Chain Bridge (Budapest)

The Széchenyi Chain Bridge is a suspension bridge that spans the River Danube between Buda and Pest, the western and eastern sides of Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Designed by the English engineer William Tierney Clark, it was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Budapest, and was opened in 1849.

St. Stephen's Basilica

St. Stephen's Basilica is a Roman Catholic basilica in Budapest, Hungary. It is named in honour of Stephen, the first King of Hungary (c 975–1038), whose right hand is housed in the reliquary. It was the sixth largest church building in Hungary before 1920. Today, it is the third largest church building in present-day Hungary.

Deák Ferenc tér

The Deák Ferenc square (Deák Ferenc tér), named for Ferenc Deák, is a major intersection and transport junction in Budapest. Károly körút, Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út, Király utca, Deák Ferenc utca, and Harmincad utca converge here. The three lines of the Budapest Metro each have a station under the square, creating the system's only transfer station. Tram lines 47 and 49 also originate from the square, as well as several bus lines. Deák Ferenc tér is a popular gathering for young people.

Vörösmarty tér

Vörösmarty tér or Vörösmarty square is a small but popular square in the Budapest city centre at the northern end of Váci utca. At the centre of the square facing west is a large statue of poet Mihály Vörösmarty, on the pedestal of which people tend to congregate. Behind the monument is a small fenced park and a fountain flanked by stone lions. At the north end of the square is the famous Café Gerbeaud and stairs to the southern terminus of the Budapest Metro's venerable yellow line (M1).

Vigadó Concert Hall

Vigadó (usually translated as "Place for Merriment") is Budapest's second largest concert hall, located on the Eastern bank of the Danube in Budapest, Hungary. Although the acoustics are lacking, the building itself, designed by Frigyes Feszl in 1859, makes a bold impression along the Pest embankment. Built to replace another concert hall on the same site (which was destroyed by fire in the 1848 War of Independence) Feszl's Vigadó was also badly damaged, this time during World War II.

Ferenciek tere (Budapest Metro)

Ferenciek tere is a station on the M3 (North-South) line of the Budapest Metro located under the eponymous square in District V. Shoes on the Danube Promenade

The Shoes on the Danube Promenade is a memorial concept by filmdirector Can Togay and was created by him and the sculptor Gyula Pauer on the bank of the Danube River in Budapest. It honors the Jews who were killed by fascist Arrow Cross militiamen in Budapest during World War II. They were ordered to take off their shoes, and were shot at the edge of the water so that their bodies fell into the river and were carried away. It represents their shoes left behind on the bank.

Váci Street

Váci utca (Váci street) is one of the main pedestrian thoroughfares and perhaps the most famous street of central Budapest, Hungary. It features a large number of restaurants and shops catering primarily to the tourist market. The Lonely Planet says "It's tourist central, but the line of cafés and shops are worth seeing — at least once. " Whilst the big name stores are safe enough, the smaller shops and cafes are not averse to ripping off tourists.
