Shire of Nillumbik
The Shire of Nillumbik is a local government area in Victoria, Australia. It contains outer northern suburbs of Melbourne and rural localities beyond the urban area. It has an area of 435 square kilometres and at the 2011 Census, the Shire had a population of 60,342. It was formed in 1994 from the merger of parts of the Shires of Eltham, Diamond Valley, Healesville and the City of Whittlesea. The Shire uses the tag-line The Green Wedge Shire.

Christmas Hills is located between Kangaroo Ground and Yarra Glen, along Eltham-Yarra Glen Road (State Route C726), north of the Yarra River, in the Dandenong Ranges. In 1904, the Australian Handbook described Christmas Hills as "an excellent health resort".

At the 2011 Census, Arthurs Creek had a population of 454. Arthurs Creek is a small town located on Arthurs Creek Road. The town is named after Henry Arthur, a member of John Batman's Port Phillip Association and nephew of George Arthur, a governor of Tasmania.
Bears Castle
Bears Castle is a small castle in Yan Yean, Victoria, Australia. The castle was constructed from mud and clay in around 1846 by two men named Hannaford and Edwards, each of whom had recently arrived from Devon, England. It was built for the pastoralist John Bear. The castle is approximately 12 square metres in area, and has parapets and turrets on each corner. In around 1900 the parapets and a castellated tower were removed.
Yan Yean Reservoir
Yan Yean Reservoir is the oldest water supply for the city of Melbourne, Australia. It is built on the Plenty River a tributary of the Yarra River, 30 km north of the city. A 9.5 metre embankment holds back 30,000 megalitres (30 million cubic metres) of water. Work began in 1853 at the height of the gold rush, and it took four years to construct at a cost of £750,000. The reservoir is managed by Melbourne Water as part of the water supply system for Melbourne.
Steels Creek, Victoria
Steels Creek is a town in Victoria, Australia, 45 km north-east of Melbourne's central business district, 7 km north of Yarra Glen. Its local government area is the Shire of Yarra Ranges. In 2006 the ABS listed the population as 3,760. The Post Office, Steel's Creek, opened on 14 March 1890 and closed in 1968. Steels Creek has a community centre at the site of the public Primary School, which was closed down in 1992 by the Kennett Government.
Sugarloaf Reservoir
Sugarloaf Reservoir is a reservoir located north-east of Melbourne. It was completed in 1981. Its total capacity is 96 GL. As of February 12, 2010 the reservoir sits at 67.1% of capacity. It reached nearly 80% in late 2009 after reaching nearly 10% in May. In February 2010, the North South Pipeline from the Goulburn River was connected to the reservoir. It is operated by Melbourne Water.
Kinglake West, Victoria
Kinglake West is a town in central Victoria, Australia. The town is located 83 kilometres north-east of the state capital, Melbourne. It's Local Government Area is the City of Whittlesea and the Shires of Murrindindi and Nillumbik. At the 2011 Census, Kinglake West had a population of 1,066. The town was substantially damaged in the Black Saturday bushfires, including 10 fatalities. Kinglake West Post Office opened around 1902 and burnt down on 7 February 2009.

Humevale, Victoria
Humevale is a rural locality in Victoria, Australia between Whittlesea and Kinglake West, about 40 kilometres north-north-east of Melbourne, within the City of Whittlesea. At the 2011 Census, Humevale had a population of 370. The Post Office opened around 1902 as Scrubby Creek, was renamed Humevale in 1927 and closed in 1959. Humevale is also referred to as Scrubby Creek, after a nearby watercourse.
Pheasant Creek, Victoria

The Sugarloaf Hydroelectric Power Station is a mini hydroelectric power station at Sugarloaf Reservoir, near Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is located at the outlet of the North-South Pipeline that carries water over the Great Dividing Range from the Goulburn River to Melbourne. It will recover approximately 40% of the energy used to pump water through the pipeline.
Toorourrong Reservoir
Toorourrong Reservoir is a small reservoir located on the southern slopes of the Great Dividing Range approximately 40 kilometres north of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is operated by Melbourne Water and forms part of the Melbourne water supply system. Water from Toorourrong flows to Yan Yean Reservoir by aqueduct.
