Empúries
Empúries, formerly known by its Spanish name Ampurias, was a town on the Mediterranean coast of the Catalan comarca of Alt Empordà in Catalonia, Spain. It was founded in 575 BC by Greek colonists from Phocaea with the name of Ἐμπόριον (Emporion, meaning "trading place", cf. emporion). It was later occupied by the Romans, but in the Early Middle Ages, when its exposed coastal position left it open to marauders, the town was abandoned.

Empordà is a natural and historical region of Catalonia divided since 1936 into two comarques, Alt Empordà and Baix Empordà.
Costa Brava
The Costa Brava is a coastal region of northeastern Spain, of Alt Empordà, Baix Empordà and Selva, in the province of Girona. The Costa Brava stretches from Blanes, 60 km northeast of Barcelona, to the French border. In the 1950s, the Costa Brava was identified by the Spanish government and local entrepreneurs as being suitable for substantial development as a holiday destination, mainly for package holiday tourists from Northern Europe and especially, the United Kingdom and France.
Empuriabrava
Empuriabrava is one of the largest marinas in the world. It is located on the coast of Girona, the Costa Brava,. Empuriabrava was originally built on a swamp, and was transformed into a touristic community with original planning in 1964 and completion in 1975. The town has more than 40 km of canals and a seasonal, summer population of around 80,000. The Greco-Roman acropolis of Sant Martí d'Empúries is nearby.
Gulf of Roses
The Gulf of Roses is the most north eastern bay on the Catalan coast. The bay is 16 km wide and is formed by the valley of the Fluvià river but also contains the estuaries of the Manol and la Muga rivers. These rivers drain the southern flanks of the eastern end of the Pyrenees and Alberes. The area is often affected by the severe Tramuntana wind. The bay contains the resorts of Roses, Castelló d'Empúries/Empuriabrava, Sant Pere Pescador, Empúries and L'Escala.
Sant Pere Pescador
Sant Pere Pescador is a municipality in the comarca of Alt Empordà, Girona, Catalonia, Spain, is a small town in the Bay of Roses on the river Fluvià. The town has the benefit of a sandy 7 km long beach. The first reference to the town dates from 974 when it was owned by the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes part of the County of Empúries. The castle of Sant Pere dates from the 14th Century.

Estartit LORAN-C transmitter, was situated near Estartit at . Estartit LORAN-C transmitter used as antenna a 190.5 metre (625 ft) tall mast radiator. The transmitters were demolished in 2005.

Montgrí Castle
The Montgrí Castle (Catalan: Castell del Montgrí) is a historical edifice in Torroella de Montgrí, Catalonia, Spain, built between 1294 and 1301. Its reason to be was the existing conflict between the counts of Empúries - who ruled over most of the area around the town - and the counts of Barcelona, the most powerful of Catalonia at that time, who also had great power over the Mediterranean.
