Storrs is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Mansfield within eastern Tolland County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 10,996 at the 2000 census. It is dominated economically and demographically by the presence of the main campus of the University of Connecticut and the associated Connecticut Repertory Theatre.
University of Connecticut
The University of Connecticut (UConn) is a public research university in Connecticut. Known as a Public Ivy, UConn was founded in 1881 and is a Land Grant and Sea Grant college & member of the Space Grant Consortium. The institution serves more than 30,000 students on its six campuses, including more than 8,000 graduate students in multiple programs. UConn's main campus is in Storrs, Connecticut. E. O. Smith High School
E. O. Smith High School, named after Edwin O. Smith, is a secondary school located in Storrs, Connecticut, United States. It serves the towns of Ashford, Mansfield, and Willington, which together make up Connecticut's Regional School District #19. E.O. Smith also serves students from nearby Columbia. Harry A. Gampel Pavilion
Harry A. Gampel Pavilion is a 10,167-seat multi-purpose arena in Storrs, Connecticut, United States. The arena opened on January 21, 1990, and is the largest on-campus arena in New England. It was named after industrialist and 1943 UConn graduate Harry A. Gampel, a philanthropist who walked with Martin Luther King Jr. , and who donated one million dollars for the construction of the arena. It is about 216,000 sq ft .
Memorial Stadium (Storrs)
Memorial Stadium was a stadium in Storrs, Connecticut. It was primarily used for American football, and was the home field of the University of Connecticut football team between 1953 and 2002. The team's current home is Rentschler Field in East Hartford. The stadium held 16,200 people and was built in 1953. It was demolished in May of 2012 to make way for a new basketball practice facility.

Hugh S. Greer Field House
Hugh S. Greer Field House was a 4,604 seat multi-purpose arena in Storrs, Connecticut. It opened December 1, 1954 with a win against then-archrival URI. It was home to the University of Connecticut Huskies men's and women's basketball teams until January 27, 1990, when the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion opened. The arena is named after former Husky basketball player, coach and athletic director, Hugh Greer.
