Maggia (river)
The Maggia is a river in the Swiss canton of Ticino. The springs are near the Cristallina mountain and the river runs through the Val Sambuco, the Val Lavizzara, and the Valle Maggia, and enters Lago Maggiore between Ascona and Locarno. The village Maggia is situated on the river. The river is used for hydroelectric power production, e.g. with the dams of Lago del Narèt and Lago del Sambuco near the sources. The Maggia river is a popular scuba diving spot due to its crystal clear waters.
Rabadan
Rabadan is a carnival festival that takes place in the town of Bellinzona, capital of southern canton of Ticino in Switzerland. It is a very lively festival, especially alluring for its sponteaneous popular character. It has been ongoing now for more than 150 years. Monte Ceneri transmitter
The Monte Ceneri transmitter was first established as the nationwide medium-wave radio transmission station for Italian-speaking Switzerland in 1933. Located on Monte Ceneri in Ticino, it broadcast on a frequency of 558 kHz.

Dreamtime (climb)
Dreamtime is a boulder problem in Cresciano, Switzerland. Its first ascent (FA) was by Frederic Nicole on 2000-10-28. Initially the problem was considered the benchmark 8C. In February 2004 Malcolm Smith did the 8th ascent of the problem, downgrading it to 8B+. The downgrade prompted 1st and 2nd ascentionists Fred Nicole and Bernd Zangerl to reexamine the problem, stating shortly after, that the problem was now easier due to aggressive wirebrushing.
Locarno International Film Festival
The Film Festival Locarno is an international film festival held annually in August in the city of Locarno, Switzerland since 1946. After Cannes and Venice and together with Karlovy Vary, Locarno is the Film Festival with the longest history. The main feature of the festival is the open-air screening space in the Piazza Grande, with room for over 8,000 spectators, and with one of the largest open air screens in the world (26x14 metres).
Canton of Bellinzona
Bellinzona was the name of a canton of the Helvetic Republic, with its capital in Bellinzona. The canton was founded in 1798 with the slogan Liberi e svizzeri (Italian for Freemen and Swiss) as a means of remaining a part of Switzerland, rather than being annexed to the Cisalpine client republic. The canton was made up of the four Landvogteien of Bellinzona, Blenio, Leventina and Rivera.
Carasso
Carasso and Galbisio are the only fraction of Bellinzona located on the west side of the Ticino river. The patriciate of Carasso is responsible for the management of the forest and other communitary resources of the fraction. Carasso was a municipality of its own until 1907.

Lago di Vogorno
Lago di Vogorno is a lake near Tenero, in Ticino, Switzerland. The reservoir on the Verzasca river is formed by the Verzasca Dam, built 1961-1965. The water surface area is 1.68 km².
Valle Verzasca
The Valle Verzasca is a valley in the Locarno district of the Canton of Ticino, Switzerland. It comprises the municipalities of Mergoscia, Vogorno, Corippo, Lavertezzo, Brione, Gerra, Frasco and Sonogno with a total population of 3,200 (as of 2004). Mergoscia is at the geographical center of the Ticino, and none of the passes out of the valley cross cantonal or national borders. The valley is situated between the Leventina and the Maggia and culminates at Pizzo Barone.

Brione-Gerra is a former municipality in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. It ceased to exist in 1852, when it was split into the two new municipalities Brione and Gerra.
Berzona
Berzona is a village and former municipality in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. In 2001 the municipality was merged with the other, neighboring municipalities Auressio and Loco to form a new and larger municipality Isorno.

Madonna del Sasso, Switzerland
The Madonna del Sasso is a sanctuary in Orselina above the city of Locarno in Switzerland. It is the principal sight and goal of pilgrimage in the city. The founding of the sanctuary goes back to a vision of the Virgin Mary that the Franciscan brother Bartolomeo d'Ivrea experienced in the night of 14/15 August 1480. The interior is highly decorated, and a platform gives a magnificent view of the city.
Locarno railway station
Locarno railway station (Italian: Stazione di Locarno) serves the city of Locarno, in the Canton of Ticino, Switzerland. However, the station is located within the adjacent municipality of Muralto, near the shore of Lake Maggiore. The border between the two municipalities runs along the Torrente Ramogna stream, a short distance to the south and west of the station. Since 1990, Locarno station has been divided into two distinct components, each served by a separately operated railway.

Locarno Airport
Locarno Airport,(Flugplatz Locarno),, is an airport located in the city of Locarno, Ticino, Switzerland. It is a mixed civil and military airport. It is located in the area of Stallone, which is 7 kilometers from the Locarno City center. Three runways are present in the Airport, and one terminal too. The airport is accessible by road by the Cantonale Street which connects to Route 13, which leads to a highway which bypasses the city and many interchanges help to get on and off the highway.

Rivera-Bironico railway station
Rivera-Bironico is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Ticino and municipality of Monteceneri. The station is on the Swiss Federal Railways Gotthard railway, between Bellinzona and Lugano. It takes its name from the nearby villages of Rivera and Bironico. The station is served by trains on line S10 of the Treni Regionali Ticino Lombardia (TILO), which operate every half hour between Bellinzona, Lugano and Chiasso, with some trains extending northwards to Airolo and southwards to Milan.
Giubiasco railway station
Giubiasco is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Ticino and municipality of Giubiasco. The station is on the Swiss Federal Railways Gotthard railway, between Bellinzona and Lugano, and is the junction point with the Luino–Bellinzona railway that has branches to Locarno and Luino. As a major junction station, Giubiasca has two island platforms serving four platform tracks, together with a number of freight tracks.
Bodio railway station
Bodio is an infrequently served railway station in the Swiss canton of Ticino and municipality of Bodio. The station is on the Swiss Federal Railways Gotthard railway, on the southern ramp up to the Gotthard Tunnel. The station is served by a small number of southbound trains on line S10 of the Treni Regionali Ticino Lombardia (TILO), which operate to Bellinzona, Lugano and Chiasso.
