Sill (river)

The Sill is a 35 km long river in Tyrol, Austria. It is one of the larger tributaries of the Inn River in the Austrian Tyrol. It flows through the Wipptal valley north to Innsbruck. Its source lies east of the Brenner Pass. At the "Sillzwickel" - the name of the point where it meets the Inn at Innsbruck - there is a big recreation area, with showers, toilets and cycle tracks. In summer you can enter the waterside there and go through shallow water to the middle of the river.

Olympiahalle (Innsbruck)

Olympiahalle is an indoor sports venue located in Innsbruck, Austria. During the 1964 Winter Olympics, it hosted the figure skating and ice hockey events. Twelve years later, it hosted those same events. Twelve years later, Olympic competitions were again held at the Olympiahalle. For the IIHF World Championship 2005 it was renovated and built a second small ice rink.

Grand Pond

The Grand Pond, also called Castle Park Pond, is located in the park east of the main entrance of Castle Ambras in the city area of Innsbruck. The lake was established by the Habsburgs for rare water birds. The Pond is provided by fresh water due to the Aldranser brook, which also drains the Lake. The Lake has quite a good water quality: B grade. The shores were fenced in to forbid bathing. The muddy bottom and the reed regions protect the birds and give nourishment to them and the fishes.

Weiherburgbach

The Weiherburgbach originates above the Alpine Zoo of Innsbruck at 720 m above sea level and flows down in a southern direction to the Inn River. It has a length of 1.5 km and lies completely within a developed area. The creek provides the zoo with fresh water, which is collected in a reservoir. The rest of the water flows further to the "Hohen Weg", where the creek joins the Inn. The grade of the creek is between A and B grade.

The Rapoldi-Weiher lies in the park with the same name in the district Pradl in Innsbruck. It was erected as recreation area. With an area size of 1.5 ha the Lake is a larger waters in the city area. The Lake possesses an artificial feed pipe, which takes the water from the Sill River subterraneously and supplies the Lake with it. An outflow with 70 metres length leads the water back into the river. Nevertheless the Lake is soiling more and more.

Small Pond (Innsbruck)

The Small Pond is also located in the castle park of Castle Ambras and is 300 metres south below the Grand Pond. The lake is surrounded by forest and has only app. 0.70 ha size. The small lake is flowed through by the Aldranser brook and possesses little fish population. Due to the small size pollution occures at times even through fresh water supply.
