Bödeli
Bödeli is the tongue of land between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz in the Bernese Oberland of Switzerland. Lake Thun and Lake Brienz were not yet separate after the last ice age. The rivers Lütschine from the south and the Lombach from the north brought enough debris to cause a partitioning over the millennia. Now Lake Brienz has a water level about 2 metres higher than Lake Thun and the river Aare flows from one lake to the other through the Bödeli.
Bernese Oberland
The Bernese Oberland is the higher part of the canton of Bern, Switzerland, in the southern end of the canton: The area around Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, and the valleys of the Bernese Alps . The flag of the Bernese Oberland consists of a black eagle in a gold field (in reference to the region's old status as reichsfrei) over two fields in the cantonal colours of red and black.

The St. Beatus Caves (Caves of Saint Beatus, or, in German, St. Beatus-Höhlen) are an extensive cave network located in the Switzerland near the village of Beatenberg, above Lake Thun. Saint Beatus of Lungern took up hermitage near the entrance of the cave system, probably in the ninth century. Legend holds that Beatus fought and defeated a dragon who lived in the caves. Saint Beatus' grave is located between the monastery and the cave entrance.

Interlaken ship canal
The Interlaken ship canal is a 2.75-kilometre long canal in the Swiss canton of Bern. It connects Lake Thun with a quay in the town of Interlaken adjacent to Interlaken West railway station, thus allowing shipping services on the lake to serve the town and connect with railway services. It is still in regular use by the Lake Thun passenger ships of the BLS AG. The canal parallels the Aar river throughout its length. It has no locks and maintains the same water level as Lake Thun throughout.
