The tramway system complements the Lyon metro and forms an integral part to the public transportation system (TCL) in Lyon. The tramway network in Lyon was first developed in 1879, but the modern network was not built until 2001. The network is currently served by 73 Alstom Citadis 302 trams.

The IAE, standing for Institut d'Administration des Entreprises (Institute of Business Administration), is the school of business of the Jean Moulin University Lyon3. Also known as the IAE of Lyon, its main campus is located in the historical complex of the “Manufacture des Tabacs” in the heart of Lyon, France. Founded in 1956 the IAE of Lyon has 6300 students in 2007 (including 2000 in postgraduate studies), accounting for more than 28% of the 22,300 students at Lyon 3 University.
Le Bachut
Le Bachut is a quarter in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon. It is bisected the avenue Berthelot and rue Marius Berliet. Served by the tram, it is connected to the Presqu'île, to the Hôpital Édouard-Herriot and the university campus of Bron. In May 2007, the library of Bachut called Médiathèque Marguerite Duras was inaugurated, located at the Place du 11 November 1918. The Maison de la danse of Lyon is also in the quarter.
Laënnec
Laënnec is a quarter of the 8th arrondissement of Lyon, in France. It is served by the eponymous station of the Line D of the Lyon Metro, which was opened on 11 December 1992 and had 132,316 passengers per month in 2006. Notable monuments of the quarter are the Grand Mosque of Lyon, located in the Boulevard Pinel, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Dentistry and the Maison des jeunes et de la culture. The quarter is named after French physician and medical writer René Laennec.

Gare de Lyon-Jean Macé
Gare de Lyon-Jean Macé is a railway station in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon. It is situated on the Paris–Marseille railway and the Lyon–Geneva railway. The station is a part of the Lyon urban area rapid transit network. It was aimed to decongest the major stations Part-Dieu and Perrache while allowing access to the TCL. The station began to work on 13 December 2009.
Grande mosquée de Lyon
The Grande mosquée de Lyon ("Great Mosque of Lyon"), France’s sixth largest mosque, was officially inaugurated on 30 September 1994. It is located at 146 Boulevard Pinel, 5 km east of Presqu'île in Lyon. The Mosque includes cultural facilities, a library and a school. It was designed by the Lyon architects Ballandras and Mirabeau and largely funded by King Fahd of Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries. It combines traditional Maghreb architecture and calligraphy with a modern Western style.
Centre Tola Vologe
The Centre Tola Vologe is the training center and club headquarters of French football club Olympique Lyonnais. It is located in the city of Lyon, not far from the club's home stadium, the Stade de Gerland. The facility is named after Anatole Tologe, commonly called Tola Vologe, who was a Lyon sportsmen and was murdered by the Gestapo during World War II. The facility is known for its high-level training and several prominent players have passed through the youth training center.

The Maison de la danse is a theater located in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon. It was originally founded in 1980 within the Théâtre de la Croix-Rousse before moving in 1992 in what was called the Théâtre du 8ème. This very important place for dance in the Rhône-Alpes region makes programming of international companies and of young companies of Rhône-Alpes.
Fort Montluc
Fort Montluc is a former prison located on rue Jeanne Hachette in the 3rd arrondissement of Lyon, France. Built between 1831 and 1835 for use as a military prison, after the invasion of the unoccupied zone of Vichy France in November 1942, the Gestapo used it as a prison, interrogation centre and internment camp for those waiting for transfer to concentration camps. It is estimated that over 15,000 people were imprisoned in Montluc, and over 900 of them were executed within it.
