Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia
Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia (SORS) is an independent Slovenian state institution in charge of official statistical surveying. It is responsible directly to the Prime Minister of Slovenia. One of the office's activities is a nation-wide census every 10 years, the last one being conducted in 2011. The SORS is located on the Litostroj Street (Litostrojska cesta) 54 in Ljubljana. As of January 2012, its director is Irena Križman.
Ljubljana Basin
The Ljubljana Basin is a basin in the upper river basin of Sava. It is the most populated area in Slovenia and it is metropolitan area of Ljubljana. Its main rivers are the Sava, the Kamnik Bistrica and the Ljubljanica.
Šiška District
The Šiška District (Slovene: Četrtna skupnost Šiška) or simply Šiška is the most populous of the city districts of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Several cultural monuments are located in Šiška, among them St. Bartholomew's Church, built in the 13th century and remodeled between 1933 and 1936 by the Slovene architect Jože Plečnik. Jože Plečnik also designed the Church of Saint Francis in Šiška.
Pirniče
Pirniče is a common name for two villages in central Slovenia in municipality of Medvode, 12 km NW from Ljubljana. Larger is Zgornje Pirniče, smaller and closer to Ljubljana is Spodnje Pirniče, known as birthplace of Slovene partisan commander Franc Rozman. They were first mentioned in 12th century.

Ljubljana Zoo
Ljubljana Zoo (Slovene: Živalski vrt Ljubljana) is a 19.6-hectare zoo in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It serves as the national zoo of Slovenia and is open year round. The zoo is situated on the southern slope of the Rožnik hill, in a natural environment of woods and meadows is about a 20-minute walk from the city center. The zoo is notable in that the city is at the intersection of the Alpine, Pannonian, and Mediterranean habitats and has 152 species and a total of 580 animals.
Tivoli Castle
Tivoli Castle, originally called Podturn Manor, is a mansion in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. The mansion is located in the city's Tivoli Park (part of the Rožnik neighborhood), north-west of (and visible from) the city centre, at the foot of Rožnik hill. It is the terminus of the Jakopič Promenade (formerly the Lantieri Promenade), itself the continuation of Cankar Street.
Tivoli City Park
Tivoli City Park (Slovene: Mestni park Tivoli) or shortly Tivoli Park (Park Tivoli) is the largest park in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is located on the northern outskirts of the Center district, stretching to the Šiška district to the north, the Vič district to the south, and the Rožnik district to the west. Several notable buildings and art works stand in the park. Since 1984, the park is protected as part of the Tivoli–Rožnik Hill–Šiška Hill Landscape Park.
Cekin Mansion
The Cekin Mansion is a mansion on the northern edge of Tivoli Park in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is located next to Tivoli Hall in the Šiška District. It houses the Museum of Contemporary History of Slovenia (Muzej novejše zgodovine Slovenije).
1895 Ljubljana earthquake
The 1895 Ljubljana earthquake or the Easter Earthquake was an earthquake that struck Ljubljana, the capital and largest city of Carniola, a Crown land of Austria-Hungary (nowadays the capital of Slovenia), on 14 April 1895, the Easter Sunday. It was the most destructive and the last destructive earthquake in the area.
Sora (river)
The Sora is a right affluent of the Sava River in the northeastern part of Slovenia. The Sora gathers its waters mainly from the Škofja Loka Hills. Its source branches are the Poljane Sora (Slovene: Poljanska Sora, also Poljanščica), named after the Poljane Valley (Poljanska dolina), and the Selca Sora (Slovene: Selška Sora, also Selščica), named after the Selca Valley (Selška dolina). The Poljane Sora is larger and is 43 kilometres in length, while the Selca Sora is 32 km in length.
Tivoli Hall
The Tivoli Hall is a complex of two multi-purpose indoor sport arenas in the Tivoli Park in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. The complex was opened in 1965. The larger, ice hockey arena has a seating capacity of 7,000 people. When configured to host basketball games, the capacity is adjusted to 6,000. The smaller, basketball hall has a seating capacity of 4,500 people.
ŽŠD Ljubljana Stadium
ŽŠD Ljubljana Stadium (Slovene: Stadion ŽŠD Ljubljana) is a multi-use stadium in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FC Ljubljana. The stadium has a capacity of 3,986 seats and was built in 1930. It was maintained by Railway Sports Association Ljubljana (Železničarsko športno društvo Ljubljana, ŽŠD Ljubljana) until 2008.

Tacen Whitewater Course
The Tacen Whitewater Course is a venue for canoe and kayak slalom competition in Tacen, Slovenia, a suburb of Ljubljana. Located on the Sava River, eight kilometers northwest of the city center, it is known locally as Kayak Canoe Club Tacen (Slovene: Kajak kanu klub Tacen). The course played an important role in development of the sport during the past six decades. In 1939, when its first competition was held, it was a natural rapid at the base of a dam in the Sava River.
Kavšek Bridge
The Kavšek Bridge or Kauschegg Bridge (Slovene: Kauscheggov most; the historical Slovene name inscribed on the bridge), sometimes listed as the Karchegger Bridge (Karcheggerjev most), is a one-arch stone bridge crossing Glinščica Creek in Podutik, a neighbourhood in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It was built by the board of the first district road and named after Franz Kauschegg (Franc Kavšek), who led the works.
Kucja Valley
The Kucja Valley is a blind valley on the outskirts of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The name may be derived from Slovene kucelj 'hill, rise', referring to the terminus of the valley. Geologically, it lies at the conjunction of a more gravelly layer with a more compact limestone layer.
International Centre of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana
The International Centre of Graphic Arts (Slovene: Mednarodni grafični likovni center) in Ljubljana was established in 1986 to give the international Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts - which itself has a longer, uninterrupted tradition from 1955 - its own place. Most of its history the director was Zoran Kržišnik. The museum has a rich collection of prints by international modernist artists, which consists of more than four thousand items.
Biennial of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana
The Biennial of Graphic Arts in Ljubljana, founded in 1955, is the world's oldest existing biennial exhibition of contemporary graphic arts. It was published by Zoran Kržišnik on the idea and endeavours of Božidar Jakac. It served from its beginnings as an international artistic event bringing together artists from both sides of the Iron Curtain despite the Cold War. The Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts also recognized and included new art trends and changes in style.
Koseze Pond
Koseze Pond, Martinek Pond (Martinek bajer) or Lake Koseze (Koseško jezero) is an artificial pond at the edge of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, between Šiška Hill to the west and the neighborhood of Mostec to the east. It is part of the Tivoli–Rožnik Hill–Šiška Hill Landscape Park and is named after the nearby Koseze neighborhood in Ljubljana's Šiška district. Near Koseze Pond, the Path of Remembrance and Comradeship touches the Tivoli–Rožnik Hill–Šiška Hill Landscape Park.
Tivoli Pond
Tivoli Pond (Slovene: Tivolski ribnik, less often Tivolski bajer or simply Tivoli or Ribnjak) is a man-made pond at the southwestern end of Tivoli Park in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It was created in 1880. It is part of the Tivoli–Rožnik Hill–Šiška Hill Landscape Park and has been used for recreation, fishing, and as a flood-control reservoir. The pond is administered by the Barje Fishing Club.
Rožnik Hill
Rožnik Hill is a hill northwest of the Ljubljana city center. Together with Park Tivoli, it forms the Tivoli – Rožnik Hill – Šiška Hill landscape park. Naturally extending from the Park Tivoli, it is a popular hiking, running, and excursion destination for residents of Ljubljana. It has two peaks, called Šiška Hill (429 m) and Cankar Peak (394 m).
