Hook of Holland
Hook of Holland (- literally "Corner of Holland"), also known as the Hook (De Hoek), is a town in the western Netherlands. It is situated on the North Sea coast, on the north bank of the Nieuwe Waterweg ship canal. The town is administered by the municipality of Rotterdam as a district of that city. Its district covers an area of 16.7 km (of which 13.92 km is land). On 1 January 1999 it had an estimated population of 9,400.
Nieuwe Waterweg
The Nieuwe Waterweg ("New Waterway") is a ship canal in the Netherlands from het Scheur (a branch of the Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt delta) west of the town of Maassluis to the North Sea at Hook of Holland: the Maasmond, where the Nieuwe Waterweg connects to the Maasgeul. It is the artificial mouth of the river Rhine.
Scheveningen
Scheveningen is one of the eight districts of The Hague, as well as a subdistrict (wijk) of that city. Scheveningen is a modern seaside resort with a long sandy beach, an esplanade, a pier, and a lighthouse. The beach is popular for water sports such as windsurfing and kiteboarding. A nudist section is 1 km to the north. The harbor is used for both fishing and tourism.
De Lier
De Lier is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Westland, and lies about 5 km north of Maassluis. It also lies about 6 feet below sea level. The village of De Lier obtained its name from the name of an old river called De Lee. De Lier used to be a separate municipality. On 26 March 1963 it was granted their coat of arms and on 14 April 1965, it adopted their modern-day flag.
Monster, South Holland
Monster is a town in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Westland, and lies about 10 km south-west of The Hague. The village of "Monster" has a population of around 11,580. The statistical area "Monster", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 14,540. Until 2004 it was a separate municipality and covered an area of 20.15 km² (of which 5.70 km² is water).

Kijkduin
Kijkduin is a seaside resort on the North Sea coast of the province of South Holland in the Netherlands. It is one of the two seaside resorts of the city of The Hague, the other (more famous) one being Scheveningen. Kijkduin was established in 1923 by the developer Joh. D. van der Houwen. Architects Bijvoet and Duiker were the inspiration and architects for this 126 residence village.
Zuiderpark Stadion
Zuiderparkstadion was an 11,000-seat stadium in The Hague, in the Netherlands. It was the home of football club ADO Den Haag. For many years after the club's inauguration in 1905, they played football in many different temporary venues, eventually settling in the 'Zuiderpark' in 1925. The stadium was temporarily abandoned on 21 February 1945, near the end of World War II. The War left the club lacking funds with which to maintain the ground.
Gemeentemuseum Den Haag
The Municipal Museum (Dutch: Gemeentemuseum Den Haag) is an art museum, located in The Hague, Netherlands. The museum, built 1931–1935, was designed by the Dutch architect H.P. Berlage. It is renowned for its large Mondrian collection, the largest in the world. His last work, Victory Boogie-Woogie, is on display here.
Ockenburg
During May 10 to May 12, 1940, Ockenburg, a small Dutch auxiliary airfield near The Hague, was the scene of bitter fighting between German airborne forces and Dutch defenders during World War II. A German formation of one airborne company of Fallschirmjaeger Regiment 2 and a battalion of Air landing troops of IR.65 (22. ID) was envisaged to take the small Air Force Base (AFB) by surprise attack.

Poeldijk
Poeldijk is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Westland, and lies about 8 km southwest of The Hague. In 2001, the village of Poeldijk had 5335 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 1.1 km², and contained 3400 residences. The statistical area "Poeldijk", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 7080.
Waldeck, The Hague
Waldeck is a wijk in the Loosduinen stadsdeel. Waldeck borders Kijkduin in the southwest, Bohemen en Meer en Bos in the northwest, Vruchtenbuurt in the northeast, Houtwijk in the southeast and Loosduinen in the south. One of the areas of Waldeck is the Componistenbuurt. Waldeck used to be part of te Loosduinen municipality which was largely annexed 1n by The Hague in 1923 (except for Rustenburg/Oostbroek which was annexed in 1903 and Ockenburgh which was annexed in 1931).
Loosduinen
Loosduinen is a former village in The Netherlands that was a municipality unto itself until 1923. At that time it merged with The Hague, and subsequently became known as the neighbourhood called Stadsdeel of that city.
't Woudt
't Woudt is a small village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located about 5 km southwest of the city of Delft, in the municipality of Midden-Delfland. 't Woudt (then spelled "'t Woud") was a separate municipality between 1812 and 1817, when it was divided into Groeneveld, Hoog en Woud Harnasch, and a part that merged with Hof van Delft.
Maasvlakte Heliport
Maasvlakte Heliport (or Pistoolhaven Heliport) is a small heliport in the Netherlands in the harbour area of the Maasvlakte in the city of Rotterdam. It is exclusively used for maritime piloting services. The heliport moved to a new location in 2007. The old location was on the western edge of the Maasvlakte near the coastline. Adjacent to the old heliport there was an ultralight airport which has now been closed.
Blaker, Netherlands
Blaker is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located in the municipality of Westland, about 2 km northeast of the village of De Lier. The hamlet consists of a single road, stretching between the Leê canal and the Noord Lierweg road. The area in which the hamlet is located, the "Oude Lierpolder", used to be called "Blaker" as well.
Huis Honselaarsdijk
Huis Honselaarsdijk was a palace in Honselersdijk, Holland, Dutch Republic. The palace was designed by the Dutch architects Bartholomeus van Bassen, Jacob van Campen and Pieter Post, and was built in the first half of the 17th century as a buitenplaats for stadtholder Frederick Henry, Prince of Orange.
Rozenburg (island)
Rozenburg is an island in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. Rozenburg Island was formed centuries ago from several sand bars in the mouth of the river Maas. In 1568 construction started on the first set of dikes and in 1586 the land known as Roosenburgh was leased to Dirk Ariensz. Bisdommer and Son, the first permanent inhabitant of Rozenburg.
SMS Hildebrand
The SMS Hildebrand (known during its construction as fourth class ironclad R or Panzerschiffs IV. Klasse R) was a coastal defence ship of the Kaiserliche Marine. It was the fifth ship of the Siegfried class, all of which were originally classified as fourth class ironclads but redesignated coastal defence ships in 1899. It was named after the mythological figure Hildebrand.
Westland (region), Netherlands
Westland is a region of the Netherlands and lies in the western part of the Province of South Holland. It consists of the municipalities of Westland and Midden-Delfland, and also of the town of Hook of Holland (which is a part of the municipality of Rotterdam). Westland is well known for its horticulture in glasshouses.
Sportpark Nieuw Hanenburg
Sportpark Nieuw Hanenburg is a cricket ground in The Hague, the Netherlands. The first recorded match on the ground came in 1966 when the Netherlands played Oxford University, over the next three decades it hosted a number of touring teams, as well as the 1998 European Cricket Championships. The Netherlands Women later played a Women's One Day International there in 2003 against Ireland Women in IWCC Trophy. The ground is used by Quick Haag Cricket Club.
Europoortkering
The Europoortkering or barrier of the Europoort is a program of engineering works in addition to the Delta Plan, designed to protect the maritime access routes from the port of Rotterdam and thus, the entire South Holland against storms and tides. The original Delta Plan provided no closure of the Western Scheldt and of the Nieuwe Waterweg to allow access to the ports of Antwerp and Rotterdam.
