Drechtsteden
The Drechtsteden (Dutch for "Drecht cities") are a number of towns and cities bordering each other in the delta area of the rivers Oude Maas, Noord, and Beneden-Merwede in the province of South Holland, the Netherlands. They cooperate in the Gemeenschappelijke Regeling Drechtsteden ("joint arrangement Drechtsteden"), which performs common tasks for the municipalities in the field of economy, development, culture, and social assistance.
's-Gravendeel
' is a town and former municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The former municipality covered an area of 20.69 km² (7.99 mile²) of which 1.77 km² (0.68 mile²) is water. Its population was 9,023 in January 2007. The municipality of 's-Gravendeel was merged with Binnenmaas on January 1, 2007. 's-Gravendeel is on the eastern side of Hoeksche Waard Island on the river Dordtsche Kil. It is connected to Dordrecht by means of the Kil Tunnel.
Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht
Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht is a town and municipality in the western Netherlands. It is located on the island of IJsselmonde, and borders with Zwijndrecht, Ridderkerk, and the Noord River. The jurisdiction of the municipality covers an area of 11.99 km² (4.63 mile²) of which 1.26 km² (0.49 mile²) is water. The municipality comprises no other population centres. Until 1855, the town was known as Hendrik-Ido-Schildmanskinderen-Ambacht en de Oostendam.
Beneden Merwede
The Beneden Merwede is a stretch of river in the Netherlands, the continuation of the Boven Merwede after the branching-off of the Nieuwe Merwede ship canal. It flows from Hardinxveld-Giessendam to Dordrecht, where it splits into the Noord and Oude Maas rivers. Its length is 14.9 km. The Merwede is part of the main shipping route between Rotterdam and Germany.

The Dordtsche Kil is a short river in South Holland in the Netherlands. The river is tidal and forms the connection between the Oude Maas river and the Hollands Diep. The river is for most part artificial in origin, since it has been a relatively small tidal creek until the 19th century. Merwede
The Merwede (etymology uncertain, possibly derived from the ancient Dutch word meaning "wide water") is the name of several connected stretches of river which ultimately mouth near the cities of Dordrecht and Papendrecht, The Netherlands. The river is part of the Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt delta. At first, the Meuse river joins the Waal at Woudrichem to form the Boven Merwede (Upper Merwede).
Oostendam
Oostendam is a Dutch village. It is located in the municipality of Ridderkerk, within the province of South Holland. In 2004 it had 640 residents. The Dutch word Oostendam translates to Eastern Dam. The village was founded in 1332 when Count William III had dikes built around a side-arm of the river Waal. As it is currently a dead branch of the river, the locals commonly refer to it as Het Waaltje, which means The Little Waal.

Between 1846 and 1855, it was named "Rijsoort en Strevelshoek" after a merger with the smaller municipality of Strevelshoek. The current village largely lies north of the little Waal river, outside the area of the former municipality.

Kijfhoek (classification yard)
Kijfhoek classification yard is a hump yard type freight rail yard between Rotterdam and Dordrecht in The Netherlands. The rail yard is named to the nearby small village Kijfhoek, now belonging to the municipality Zwijndrecht. With an area of 50 hectares Kijfhoek is the largest of the few railway yards left in the country. The rail yard has a key function in the rail network from the Port of Rotterdam to the rest of The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
Noord (river)
The Noord ("North") is a short tidal river in South Holland, Netherlands. It starts at the city of Dordrecht where the Beneden Merwede river forks into the Oude Maas and the Noord. It joins the Lek at the city of Ridderkerk and Kinderdijk, and the combined stream is thereafter known as the Nieuwe Maas. The distance is about 9 km. The direction of its water flow is dependent on the tides. The Noord River separates IJsselmonde island from Alblasserwaard mainland to the east.
Noordtunnel
The Noord Tunnel is a tunnel under the Noord. It's a part of the motorway A15. The Noord Tunnel opened in 1992. The Noord Tunnel has replaced the bridge since 1992.
City Hall, Dordrecht

Restaurant De Brave Hendrik was a restaurant located in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the period 1990-1996. The restaurant was originally named In den Brave Hendrik and located at Kerkstraat 7, but later renamed to De Brave Hendrik and housed at Kerkstraat 30. Henk van Ark and head chef Jan Klein owned the restaurant from 1982 until 1994, when Klein left to start restaurant Hermitage in Rijsoord.
