Auburndale, Massachusetts
Auburndale is one of the 13 villages within the affluent city of Newton, Massachusetts. It lies at the western end of Newton near the intersection of interstate highways 90 and 95. It is bisected by the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90). Auburndale is surrounded by three other Newton villages as well as the city of Waltham and the town of Weston. Auburndale is the home of Williams and Burr elementary schools, as well as Lasell College.
Riverside (MBTA station)
Riverside is the western terminus of the MBTA Green Line "D" Branch light rail line. It is located at 333 Grove Street, off Exit 22 on Interstate 95, in Auburndale, a village of Newton, Massachusetts. Scheduled travel time to Park Street is 46 minutes. Riverside includes a parking lot with spaces for 925 automobiles and bicycle parking. A loop allows trams to reverse direction for the trip back to Boston, and storage tracks and the Riverside Carhouse are connected to the loop.

Woodland (MBTA station)
Woodland is a street-level station on the "D" branch of the MBTA Green Line. The station is located at 1940 Washington Street in Newton. The station is 42 minutes away from Park Street. The station is located near the Woodland Country Club and Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and was built in 1959 as a replacement for the original Woodland Boston and Albany Railroad station. The station contains a parking garage with 548 spaces, 16 accessible spaces, and two Zipcar spaces.

Auburndale (MBTA station)
Auburndale is a passenger rail station on MBTA Commuter Rail's Framingham/Worcester Line. It is located next to the Massachusetts Turnpike in Auburndale, Massachusetts near Lasell College. The modern bare station platform, built in 1961, replaced a highly acclaimed 1881 depot building designed by H. H. Richardson. Commuter service at Auburndale is oriented towards rush hour service, but a handful of off-peak locals stop as well, as do all weekend trains.
Newton, Massachusetts train collision
The Newton, Massachusetts train collision was a train crash that occurred on May 28, 2008, just after 6pm, when two westbound MBTA trains collided on the Green Line "D" Branch between Woodland and Waban stations, behind 56 Dorset Road in Newton, Massachusetts, United States. The collision resulted in the death of the operator of the rear train, Terrese Edmonds, and the injuries of numerous others. Fourteen passengers were taken to area hospitals, one of whom was airlifted.
Woodland (Boston and Albany station)
Woodland Station is one of two surviving railroad stations in the Boston area designed by American architect Henry Hobson Richardson. Although he designed numerous stations along the Worcester line, most of the others have been torn down either due to neglect, fire, or construction of the Massachusetts Turnpike. Like a number of Richardson's later works, this railroad station, finished in 1886, was completed after Richardson's death.

Newton-Wellesley Hospital (NWH) is a community teaching medical center located in Newton, Massachusetts on Washington Street. It is affiliated with Tufts University School of Medicine and Harvard Medical School. Founded in 1881, its campus is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Newton Cottage Hospital Historic District. It is a member of Partners HealthCare, a network founded by Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Myrtle Baptist Church Neighborhood Historic District
Myrtle Baptist Church Neighborhood Historic District is a historic district roughly on Curve Street and Prospect Street in Newton, Massachusetts. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
