Portland International Jetport
Portland International Jetport is a public airport located two miles (3 km) west of the central business district of Portland, in Cumberland County, Maine, United States. It is owned by the city of Portland. A significant portion of the Jetport, including the main runway, is located in the neighboring city of South Portland. This regional airport serves much of Maine and is the busiest airport in the state.
Fore River (Maine)
The Fore River is a short horn-shaped estuary, approximately 5.7 miles long, separating Portland and South Portland in Maine in the United States. Many of the port facilities of the Portland harbor are along the estuary, which is formed just southwest of Portland by the confluence of several creeks. The estuary was initially known as Levett's River, so named by the first English settler of the Casco Bay region, Capt. Christopher Levett.
Hadlock Field
Hadlock Field is a Minor League baseball stadium in Portland, Maine. It is primarily home to the Portland Sea Dogs of the Eastern League. It is also the home of the Portland High School Bulldogs and Deering High School Rams baseball teams. The stadium is named for Edson J. Hadlock, Jr. , a long-time Portland High School baseball coach and physics teacher.
Deering Oaks
Deering Oaks is a 55 acres public park in Portland, Maine, which has a baseball diamond, tennis courts, a playground, and a pond. It is located west of downtown Portland and is bordered by Deering Avenue on the west, Forest Avenue on the east, Park Avenue to the south and Interstate 295 to the north. State Street bisects the park. Access is from State Street, Deering Avenue, or Park Avenue. The Portland Farmers Market is located on the Park Avenue side of the park.

Deering High School (DHS) is a public high school in Portland, Maine which educates grades 9–12. The school is part of the Portland Public Schools district. It is named after the Deering Center neighborhood it serves. It was established in 1874. It is one of the three public high schools located in Portland, the others being Portland High School and Casco Bay High School. Memorial Stadium is located behind Deering High School, and is the home field for DHS outdoor sports teams.

University of Maine School of Law
The University of Maine School of Law is located in Portland, Maine and is Maine's only law school. It is a freestanding institution within the University of Maine System. Portland Exposition Building
The Portland Exposition Building (or Expo as it is known locally), is a sports and exhibition venue in located in Portland, Maine. Currently, it is the site of Portland High School home basketball games, and high-school and middle-school indoor track meets. The Expo has recently become the home of Maine Roller Derby (2007) and the Maine Red Claws, an NBA Development League team. The main arena currently has 3,100 seats, making it one of the smallest to house an NBA-D League team.
Cheverus High School
Cheverus High School is a private, Jesuit, college-preparatory school in Portland, Maine. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland. Cheverus High School was founded in 1917 as a Diocesan school and was named after French Roman Catholic Cardinal Jean-Louis Lefebvre de Cheverus. The Society of Jesus took over responsibility of the school in 1942.
Breakwater School
Breakwater School is an independent, non-denominational, co-educational preschool, elementary school, and middle school in Portland, Maine. Lincoln Middle School is a middle school in the Deering Center neighborhood of Portland, Maine. The school is located on Stevens Avenue, which has the unusual distinction of having an elementary school, middle school, two high schools, and a college all situated on it. The new principal of the school as of the 2008–2009 school year is Steve Nolan who was the assistant principal. Suellyn Santiago who was previously a math teacher at Lincoln is now the assistant principal.
Catherine McAuley High School
Catherine McAuley High School of Portland, Maine is an all-girls' college preparatory school that is run by the Sisters of Mercy. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland. McAuley is the only single-sex high school in the state of Maine. The school was established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1969 and is named for their foundress, the Venerable Catherine McAuley of Dublin.

The railroad history of Portland, Maine, began in 1842 with the arrival of the Portland, Saco & Portsmouth Railway (PS&P). Most of the rail activity in Portland revolved around agricultural goods bound for export and import freight from Europe. Yet Maine's largest city also enjoyed 125 years of continuous passenger rail service, from 1842 until 1967, and Amtrak began serving the city in 2001.
Portland Transportation Center
Portland Transportation Center is a bus and train station in Portland, Maine, served and run primarily by Concord Coach Lines (18 round-trips a day) and Amtrak Downeaster passenger trains (five round-trips a day). It is also served by Megabus (via Concord Coach Lines), as well as the Greater Portland Metro Bus Route 5. The station is open from 4:30 AM to 12:15 AM and from 2:45 AM to 3:15 AM.

Cumberland County Jail
The Cumberland County Jail is located in Portland, Maine, and is the largest jail in the state. The jail's governing body is Cumberland County, in which the county Sheriff's office oversees the daily operations. In 2002 it became the first jail in the state of Maine to receive national accreditation from the American Correctional Association, at the time putting it among only 4% of adult correctional facilities in the USA to have been so accredited.
Portland Ice Arena (Maine)

Located on Park Avenue between Fitzpatrick Stadium and Hadlock Field, the Ice Arena has a seating capacity of 750 and is open 10 months of the year. Since its opening in 1984, it has been home to Portland Pirates hockey practices as well as local amateur teams and open skating hours. The facility was funded by a 20 year bond which was repaid in 2004.

Fore River Sanctuary
The Fore River Sanctuary is an 85-acre protected area in Portland, Maine. Located in the Stroudwater neighborhood, the sanctuary is home of Jewell Falls, Portland's only natural waterfall and the former home of the Cumberland and Oxford Canal. It also includes a salt water marsh which attracts a number of different species of birds and small mammals. It is named after the nearby Fore River and was protected by the National Audubon Society prior to being given to Portland Trails.
