The Grampians, New Zealand
The Grampians are a set of prominent hills forming the southeast backdrop of Nelson, reaching 390 metres high. Frequented by locals and tourists alike, they are covered in a myriad of tracks ranging from leisurely strolls to relatively taxing steep inclines. Entry points to this recreational area are from Van Diemen Street, Collingwood Street, and Broughham Street. A TV transmitter at the top is visible from most of Nelson.

The Diocese of Nelson is one of the thirteen dioceses and hui amorangi of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. Trafalgar Park, Nelson
Trafalgar Park is a large sports ground within the heart of the city of Nelson, in New Zealand's South Island. The stadium has a capacity of 18,000, following upgrades completed for the 2011 Rugby World Cup. It takes its name from the Battle of Trafalgar. It is one of the home grounds for Air New Zealand NPC rugby team the Tasman Makos. The other is Lansdowne Park, Blenheim. Trafalgar Park is also used by the Central Districts Cricket Association.
Nayland College
Nayland College is a coeducational secondary school which is located in Stoke, Nelson, New Zealand. It is one of two secondary schools in Nelson which are coeducational. Notable features of the college include its well-regarded student produced newspaper and biennial musical productions. The school was officially opened on February 3, 1966.

Nelson College for Girls is a single-sex state school in Nelson, New Zealand. Established in 1883, it has close ties with Nelson College and has a private Preparatory School. McCashins Brewery
McCashin's Brewery is a microbrewery based in Nelson, New Zealand. It was founded in 1981 by former All Black and farmer Terry McCashin. Terry has been credited with starting the micro-brewery renaissance in New Zealand. Prior to opening McCashin's Brewery in 1981 there were only two breweries in New Zealand: New Zealand Breweries and Dominion Breweries. Today, Nelson alone has 11 breweries. McCashin's Brewery is housed in the Rochdale Cider factory.

Cabragh House (school and residence) is a late Victorian, timber house at 48 Weka Street in Nelson, New Zealand built circa 1897. It is an historic site for exemplarising late Victorian furnishings and provincial New Zealand vernacular architecture. Nelson Central School
Nelson Central School is a state primary contributing school located in the inner city of Nelson at the top of the South Island of New Zealand teaching children of both genders aged 5 to 11 years. At the end of 2006 the board of trustees consisted of five elected parent representatives, the Principal and the staff representative. Currently the chairman is Geoff Clark. For the school year ended in December 2006, the school roll opened with 389 students and closed with 419.
Amber House
Amber House is one of the older two storey villas in New Zealand's third founded city of Nelson in the top of the South Island at 46 Weka Street. It is a traditional colonial-style construction using native Rimu and Matai with an external brick chimney that originally served four large fireplaces. The original, highly decorated, cast iron sewage vent pipes are still intact and visible on the exterior of the building.

Nelson Airport is an airport in Nelson, New Zealand. Approximately 1.2 million passengers and visitors are said to use the airport terminal annually. Total passenger numbers for the 2011 financial year were 758,250. This represents passenger growth of approximately 11% on the previous year. Its currently the sixth busiest airport in New Zealand by passenger traffic. Construction of Nelson Airport commenced in 1937.

Christ Church Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral in upper Trafalgar Street, Nelson, New Zealand with seating for 350 people. It is 58 metres in length and 27 metres wide. The tower is 35 metres high.
Stoke Railway Station
Stoke railway station was a single-platform provincial railway station serving the town of Stoke, south of Nelson in New Zealand’s South Island. It was one of 25 stations on the Nelson Section, and existed from 1876 to 1955. Facilities at the station included a small wooden station building, a thirty-one wagon loop, a loading bank and stockyards.

Maitai River

It flows west through hill country to the west of the Bryant Range before passing through the city of Nelson, reaching Tasman Bay at Nelson Haven. Botanical Gardens, Nelson
Botanical Gardens is a cricket ground in Nelson, Nelson Region, New Zealand, and is located close to the trigonometrical 'Centre of New Zealand'. The first recorded cricket match held on the ground came in January 1873 when Nelson played Auckland. The ground later held a first-class match when Nelson played Wellington on 31 December 1883, which Nelson won by 39 runs.

Victory Square is a cricket ground in Nelson, Nelson Region, New Zealand. The first recorded cricket match held on the ground came in December 1862 when Nelson played Wellington. First-class cricket was first played there in February 1875 when Nelson played Wellington. Nelson played six further first-class matches at the ground between 1875 and 1887. First-class cricket is no longer played there, but cricket is still played there by Wakatu Cricket Club.
Arrow Rock, New Zealand
Arrow Rock (also Fifeshire Rock) is a small island in Tasman Bay, off the coast of Nelson, New Zealand. There is a narrow channel between the rock and Haulashore Island. Situated within Nelson Harbour, Arrow Rock was site of the Fifeshire wreck in 1842, which gave the rock is secondary name. There are a number of Spotted Shags who live on the rock.
Haulashore Island
Haulashore Island is a small island in Tasman Bay, near Nelson, New Zealand. Formed in 1901, it was at one time a part of Boulder Bank. There is a narrow channel between the island and Arrow Rock. The 0.5 hectares island has had rabbits since its formation; ferrets were released on the island in the 1960s to control the rabbit population.
Founders Heritage Park
Founders Heritage Park is a museum in Nelson, New Zealand, housing a number of groups with historical themes, including transport. A short heritage railway line is operated by the Nelson Railway Society. Several shops operate in the museum, selling bakery and other artisan foods, as well as locally-made arts & crafts.
