Waimānalo, Hawaii

Waimānalo is a census-designated place (CDP) in the City & County of Honolulu, in the District of Koʻolaupoko on the island of Oʻahu, Hawaii, United States. This small windward community is located near the eastern end of the island. In the Hawaiian language Waimānalo means "potable water"; it is so named for the many brackish ponds in the area that were used for irrigation. As of the 2010 Census, the CDP had a population of 5,451.

Waimānalo Beach is a census-designated place (CDP) located in the City & County of Honolulu, in the District of Koʻolaupoko, on the island of Oʻahu in the U.S. state of Hawaiʻi. This small windward community is located near the eastern end of the island, and the climate is dry. As of the 2010 Census, the CDP had a population of 4,481. This neighborhood is close to, but somewhat separate from Waimānalo, although the two form a single community.

Hanauma Bay

Hanauma is a marine embayment formed within a volcanic cone and located along the southeast coast of the Island of Oʻahu (just east of Honolulu) in the Hawaiian Islands. Hanauma is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Island and has suffered somewhat from overuse (at one time accommodating over three million visitors per year). In 1956, dynamite was used to clear portions of the reef to make room for telephone cables linking Hawaii to the west coast of the US.

Aina Haina, Hawaii

ʻĀina Haina is an unincorporated town of the City & County of Honolulu in the state of Hawaiʻi of the United States. Located on the island of Oʻahu, ʻĀina Haina is a residential community developed around Kalanianaole Highway east of Waikīkī and Diamond Head. ʻĀina Haina was named after local dairyman and owner of Hind-Clarke Dairy, Robert Hind. ʻĀina Haina in the Hawaiian language means "Hind's Land". Koko Head

Koko Head is the headland that defines the eastern side of Maunalua Bay along the southeastern side of the Island of Oʻahu in Hawaiʻi. On its western slope is the community of Portlock, a part of Hawaiʻi Kai. Koko Head (at 642 ft or 196 m) is an ancient tuff cone that is somewhat dwarfed by its neighboring tuff cone, Koko Crater, with its peak, Kohelepelepe (or Puu Mai), rising to 1208 ft or 368 m.

Makapuʻu Point

Makapuʻu Point (also Makapuu Point) is the easternmost point on the Hawaiian island of Oʻahu, located in the Makapuʻu region. Twelve miles east of Honolulu, it is a popular hiking spot, offering great views of Makapuʻu and Waimanalo Bay on one side and the Ka ʻIwi Channel on the other side. It is the home of the Makapuʻu Point Light, which was established in 1909; the light was automated in 1974. Containing one of the world's largest Fresnel lenses.

Halona Blowhole

Halona Blowhole is a rock formation and a blowhole on the island of Oahu, Hawaii off of Hanauma Bay overlooking the Pacific Ocean. On windy days when the tide is high, the ocean breeze sends the waves rolling on to the shore where the rock formation then shoots sea spray high into the air through the cave acting like a geyser. It is not always at its best every day though. The blowhole is most active when the tide is high and the winds are strong. This is a big tourist spot in Hawaii.

Sandy Beach

Sandy Beach is a beach on the South Shore of Oʻahu in Hawaiʻi. It is known for its excellent bodyboarding and bodysurfing opportunities due to shore break that breaks very close to the shore. Consequently, more injuries occur per year at Sandy Beach than any other beach in Hawaiʻi, earning it the infamous nickname, "break-neck" beach. The water is especially dangerous during high surf, when strong rip currents are present.

Broken Ridge Buddhist Temple

Broken Ridge Buddhist Temple (Hangul: 무량사 "Mu Ryang Sa") is a Korean Buddhist temple on the island of Oahu in the U.S. state of Hawaii. Originally known as the "Dae Won Sa Temple," it was constructed on King St in Honolulu in 1975.
