Budel is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Cranendonck, 25 km outside Eindhoven. Kempen Airport is located near Budel. Budel used to be a separate municipality. It merged with Maarheeze in 1997, and changed its name a year later to Cranendonck. South of the town the large zinc smelter of Nyrstar is located.

The two parts were separated by the municipalities of Maarheeze and Leende. The municipality was created in 1821, in a merger of the municipalities of Soerendonk en Sterksel and Gastel, and existed until 1925, when it merged with Maarheeze.

Kempen Airport or Budel Airport, also just called Budel after the nearby town, is a general aviation airport in the south-east of the Netherlands located 5 NM west of Weert and near the border with Belgium. Its main runway, 03/21, is a 1,199 m long asphalt runway. There is a second runway for microlight aircraft only, located next to the main runway, and is 600 m . The airport opened in 1970, initially only with a grass runway.

Achel Abbey
The Trappist Abbey of Achel or Saint Benedictus-Abbey or also Achelse Kluis (which means hermitage of Achel), which belongs to the Cistercians of Strict Observance, is located in Achel in the Campine region of the province of Limburg. The abbey is famous for its spiritual life and its brewery, which is one of few Trappist beer breweries in the world. Life in the abbey is characterised by prayer, reading and manual work, the three basic elements of Trappist life.
Bosch, Netherlands
Bosch is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Cranendonck, about 1.5 km east of Budel. Together with the hamlets of Meemortel and Heikant to the south, Bosch has a population of about 450. According to the 19th century historian A.J. van der Aa, Bosch consisted of 23 houses and had a population of 150 to 160 people in the middle of the 19th century. It was built on a dyke in heathlands.

Heikant is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Cranendonck, about 1.5 km southeast of Budel. Together with the hamlets of Meemortel and Bosch to the north, Heikant has a population of about 450. According to the 19th century historian A.J. van der Aa, Heikant (or "De Heikant") consisted of 22 houses and had a population of 140 in the middle of the 19th century.

Boreas (restaurant)
Boreas is a restaurant located in Heeze in the Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that is awarded one Michelin stars from the period 2002-2009 and two michelinstars from 2010 up until now. GaultMillau awarded them 19.0 points (out of 20) in 2011. Boreas is run by head chef Nico Boreas and is wife and maître Sonja Boreas. The restaurant is member of Les Patrons Cuisiniers.

Hostellerie du Château is a former restaurant located in Heeze, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the periods 1980-1990. Frans Gerrits was head chef in the time the restaurant had its Michelin star. Hans Huisman took over, but could not retain the Michelin star. Hostellerie du Château is succeeded by Hostellerie Vangaelen.
