Eurovision Song Contest 1959
The Eurovision Song Contest 1959 was the fourth Eurovision Song Contest. It was held in Cannes, following the French victory the previous year. The contest was won by the Netherlands with the song "Een beetje", performed by Teddy Scholten. This was their second and the first time a country had won the contest twice. Willy van Hemert was also the lyricist of "Net als toen", which won the Eurovision Song Contest 1957. Van Hemert was the first person to win the Eurovision Song Contest twice.

Eurovision Song Contest 1961
The Eurovision Song Contest 1961 was the sixth Eurovision Song Contest. It was held on 18 March 1961 and was the first to take place on a Saturday night, a tradition that has continued into modern times. It was hosted in the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès located in Cannes, France, where it was staged two years previously. Luxembourg won for its first time with the song "Nous les amoureux" performed in French by Jean-Claude Pascal.
Lérins Islands
The Lérins Islands are a group of four Mediterranean islands off the French Riviera, near Cannes. The two largest islands in this group are the Île Sainte-Marguerite and the Île Saint-Honorat. The smaller Îlot Saint-Ferréol and Îlot de la Tradelière are uninhabited. Administratively, the islands belong to the commune of Cannes. The islands are first known to have been inhabited during Roman times.
Sophia Antipolis
Sophia Antipolis is a technology park northwest of Antibes and southwest of Nice, France. Much of the park falls within the commune of Valbonne. Created in 1970-1984, it houses primarily companies in the fields of computing, electronics, pharmacology and biotechnology. Cimetière du Grand Jas
The Cimetière du Grand Jas (Grand Jas Cemetery) is located at 205 avenue de Grasse in Cannes on the French Riviera. The nine hectare terraced cemetery began operations in 1866 and is known for its landscaped architecture with rich floral decorations and statuary. Its "English square" or Cimetière Anglais, is the final resting place for a number of English people who made Cannes their home.
Lérins Abbey
Lérins Abbey is a Cistercian monastery on the island of Saint-Honorat, one of the Lérins Islands, on the French Riviera, with an active monastic community. There has been a monastic community there since the 5th century. The construction of the current monastery buildings began around 1073. Today the monks cultivate vineyards and produce wine and liqueur.

Île Sainte-Marguerite
The Île Sainte-Marguerite is the largest of the Lérins Islands, about half a mile off shore from the French Riviera town of Cannes. The island is approximately 3 km in length (East to West) and 900m across. The island is most famous for its fortress prison (the Fort Royal), in which the so-called Man in the Iron Mask was held in the 17th century.
Île Saint-Honorat
The Île Saint-Honorat is the second largest of the Lérins Islands, about a mile off shore from the French Riviera town of Cannes. The island is approximately 1.5 kilometers in length (East to West) and 400 meters wide. Since the fifth century, the island has been home to a community of monks.

Gare de Cannes-La Bocca
Gare de Cannes-La Bocca is a railway station in the city of Cannes, southern France. The station opened on 10 April 1863 when the line from Les Arcs to Cagnes-sur-Mer (part of the Marseille–Ventimiglia railway) opened to passengers. The station is both a passenger station and a goods/maintenance depot. Engine maintenance was transferred from Cannes-Ville in 1880 and the goods yard opened in 1883. Cannes-La Bocca is situated alongside the beach and a connection to local ferries is possible.

Le Bosquet is a station in the city of Cannes, southern France. The station opened on 10 April 1870 when the line from Grasse to Cannes opened to passengers. Due to its position on a branch line from Grasse near the La Bocca Junction, it is close to its main line counterpart of La Bocca. Le Bosquet is situated on the pitoresque single line to Grasse, reopened in 2004.
Gare de Ranguin
Gare de Ranguin is a station in a suburb of Cannes, southern France. The station opened in 1871 when the line from Cannes to Grasse opened to passengers. The line saw a steady decline in passengers and the station was closed in 1995. After much work by the Comité pour la Réouverture de la Ligne SNCF Cannes-Grasse, the line and station were reopened in 2005 and the line was electrified.

Stade Pierre de Coubertin is a multi-use stadium in Cannes, France. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of AS Cannes. The stadium is able to hold 12,007 people.
Moulin de Mougins
The Moulin de Mougins is a celebrated restaurant in France, situated in a 16th-century mill (moulin) in the inland French Riviera town of Mougins. Founding chef Roger Vergé made the restaurant's name renowned with his novel and light Cuisine de Soleil. The Moulin is technically classified as an auberge or inn, as it has a couple of guest rooms. As of 30 August 2009, the Moulin was rated four "knives and forks" in the Michelin Guide.

Promenade de la Croisette

Palais des Festivals et des Congrès
The first Palais des Festivals et des Congrès was a building built in 1949 to host the Cannes Film Festival. The original building was located on the boulevard of Promenade de la Croisette on the present site of the JW Marriott Cannes. In response to the growing success of the Festival and the advent of the first business conventions, such as the MIPTV Media Market since 1965, the City of Cannes decided to build a new Palais in 1979.
