Latakia
Latakia, or Latakiyah (and often locally transliterated as Lattakia), is the principal port city of Syria, as well as the capital of the Latakia Governorate. In addition to serving as a port, the city is a manufacturing center for surrounding agricultural towns and villages. According to the 2004 official census, the population of the city is 383,786.
Battle of Latakia
The Battle of Latakia was a small but revolutionary naval battle of the Yom Kippur War, fought on 7 October 1973, between Israel and Syria. It was the first naval battle in history to see combat between surface-to-surface missile-equipped missile boats and the use of electronic deception. At the outset of hostilities, the Israeli Navy set out to destroy the naval capabilities of the Syrians, who were equipped with Soviet Komar and Osa class missile boats.
Tell Tweini
Tell Tweini is an archaeological site located 1 kilometers east of the modern city of Jableh, Syria. It is situated within the coastal plain of Jebleh within short distance of two other main archaeological sites: Tell Sukas (5 km) and Tell Siyannu (6 km). As a tell, the site is the result of centuries of habitation on the same place, which resulted in a rising surface.
Al-Assad Stadium
Al-Assad Stadium (also known as Al-Basil Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Latakia, Syria. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 25,000 spectators. The stadium was opened in 1978 and completely renovated in 2004. It is home to Syrian Premier League football clubs Hutteen SC and Tishreen SC. The complex includes a nearby Olympic size swimming and diving pools and a hotel.
Bassel Al-Assad International Airport
Bassel al-Assad International Airport is an airport serving Latakia, the principal port city of Syria. The airport is named for Bassel al-Assad (1962–1994), son of the late Syrian President Hafez al-Assad and brother of the current President Bashar al-Assad.
Latakia District
Latakia District is a district of the Latakia Governorate in Syria. At the 2004 Census it had a population of 526,888. The centre of the district is the city of Latakia. Latakia and the surrounding districts became a separate autonomous state under a Mandate given to France by the League of Nations and remained so for two years until its incorporation into the larger, French Mandate of Syria in 1923.
Latakia Camp
The Latakia camp is an "unofficial" Palestinian refugee camp located within the municipal boundaries of Latakia on the Mediterranean coast. Established in 1955-1956 on an area of 220,000 square meters, most of the refugees originate from the city of Jaffa and villages in northern Palestine. As of June 2002, the number of registered refugees living in Latakia camp is 6,354. Fishing provides a small income for many refugees.

Tishreen University, is a public university located in Latakia, Syria. It is the third largest university in Syria. Established on May 20, 1971.
Latakia Sports City
Latakia Sports City, known also as Al-Assad Sports City, is a sports complex in Latakia, Syria. It was completed in 1987 to host the 1987 Mediterranean Games. The complex has an are of 156 hectares, lying along the Mediterranean coastline with a length of 2.5 km. It is owned by the Government of Syria and operated by the Ministry of Territorial Administration.
Al-Baath Stadium
Al-Baath Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in Jableh, Syria. It is currently used mostly for football matches. It serves as a home ground of Jableh SC. The stadium holds 10,000 spectators. The venue was opened in 1990 and completely renovated between 2004-2006.
Port of Latakia
The Port of Latakia is the main seaport in Syria. Located on the Mediterranean Sea in the city of Latakia. The port is the main route in Syria for containers, though it also handles a good deal of metals, machinery, chemicals and food stuffs. In 2004, 5.1m tonnes were unloaded and 1m tonnes were loaded from Latakia port. New quay investments are under way in the port. The port is managed by a semi-autonomous state company.
Cote d'Azur, Syria
Cote d'Azur or the Blue Beach is a beach resort located 8 kilometers north of Latakia, Syria along the Mediterranean coast, on a site of archaeological importance called Ras Ibn Hani. Latakia's two five-star hotels are located at the resort, in addition to the "village", which consists of private holiday apartments and a campsite. During the summer, the entire area is packed with Syrian families on holiday.
Latakia Sports City Stadium
Latakia Sports City Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Latakia, Syria. It is currently used mostly for football matches. With a capacity of 45,000 spectators, the stadium is the second largest sports venue in Syria. It was opened in 1987 as a part of the Latakia Sports City and became the main venue of the 10th Mediterranean Games in Latakia (1987).
National Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Latakia
The National Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Latakia is a church in Latakia, Syria. It is a member of the Synod of Syria and Lebanon, and with a capacity of around 400, it is one of the biggest churches in Latakia. The membership is approximately 1000 persons. Weekly activities in the church include the main Sunday service and Sunday school on Fridays, in addition to Bible study and conferences. The church has many teams for Christian songs, theater, and football games.
Burj Islam
Burj Islam is a Syrian village located in the Latakia District, Latakia Governorate in northwest Syria. The village is a popular summer resort with a white rock beach. In the 2004 census by the Central Bureau of Statistics, the village had a 5,652 residents.

Idlib Municipal Stadium
Idlib Municipal Stadium is an all-seater football stadium in Idlib, Syria. It is currently used by Omayya Idlib. The stadium has a capacity of 8,000 spectators.
Deir ez-Zor Municipal Stadium
Deir ez-Zor Municipal Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Deir ez-Zor, Syria. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 17,000 people.
