Hilversum
Hilversum is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. Located in the region called "'t Gooi", it is the largest town in that area. It is surrounded by heathland, woods, meadows, lakes, and smaller villages. Hilversum is part of the Randstad, one of the largest conurbations in Europe.
Eurovision Song Contest 1958
The Eurovision Song Contest 1958 was the third Eurovision Song Contest and was held on 12 March 1958 in Hilversum. The convention that the winning country from a year hosted the following year's contest was introduced in this year. France's win was their first. It was the last time to date that the United Kingdom did not enter the contest. Unlike the first competition in 1956, the 1958 contest continued with the policy implemented in 1957 wherein each country was limited to one song entry.

De Trompenburgh is a 17th century manor house in 's-Graveland, North Holland, Netherlands, designed by Daniel Stalpaert and built for Admiral Maarten Tromp, one of the naval heroes of the Dutch Republic. The house is almost entirely surrounded by water and was built to resemble a ship, even with decks and railings.
Ankeveen
Ankeveen is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Wijdemeren, and lies about 5 km west of Bussum. In 2001, the town of Ankeveen had 707 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.11 km², and contained 280 residences. The statistical district "Ankeveen", which covers the village and the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 1610. There are plans to establish a centre for refugees in Ankeveen.

Nieuw-Loosdrecht is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Wijdemeren, and lies about 4 km southwest of Hilversum. Nieuw-Loosdrecht has a population of around 9000.
Muiderberg
Muiderberg is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Muiden, and lies about 6 km north of Bussum and 2 km west of Naarden. Adjacent to the Naarderbos. In 2001, the town of Muiderberg had 3095 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.61 km², and contained 1199 residences. The statistical area "Muiderberg", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 3140.

3FM is a Dutch pop/rock radio station controlled by public broadcaster NPO. Its format is a combination of contemporary hit radio, alternative and rock. It can be compared with BBC Radio 1.
Naarderbos
Naarderbos is a recreational area in the Gooi region in the province of North Holland in the Netherlands. It is situated on the shores of the Gooimeerlake and is part of the city of Naarden. It consists partly of woodland and meadows and has a villa closed community also referred to as "Naarderwoonbos". This community consists of approx. 180 villas, which each having its own boat pier as well as a public 18 hole golf course. A beach was created and 3 urban villas were erected during 2007.

Also 3VOOR12 is present at several festivals. 3VOOR12 has been awarded several times. Among the awards are the UPC Digital Award, the Pritchett-award, the BNN Rookie-Award and the Gouden Pixel.
Hilversum Airport
Hilversum Airport is a general aviation airport 2.2 NM south-southwest of Hilversum, a municipality and town in the Het Gooi region and the province of North Holland in the Netherlands. The airport has three grass runways, 07/25, 13/31 and 18/36 with the respective lengths of 600 m, 660 m and 700 m . An asphalt runway is planned in the near future. The majority of flights are with smaller single engine piston aircraft, either for training or recreational purposes.
Gooimeer
The Gooimeer (Gooi Lake) is a bordering lake in the Netherlands between the southeastern part of North Holland ('t Gooi, het Gooi) and Flevoland. There is a railroad bridge over the narrow west side of it, between Weesp and Almere Muziekwijk, with a parallel highway A6 bridge, the Hollandse Brug. The narrow eastern border of the lake is crossed by two parallel highway A27 bridges, the Stichtse Brug.
Gooi
Het Gooi [ɦɛt ˈxoːi]or [(ə)t ˈxoːi] is the area around Hilversum in the centre of the Netherlands. It is a slightly hilly area characterised by its green landscape, its historical charm, the wealth of its inhabitants, and its villas. Het Gooi is known in the Netherlands as the home of the rich and famous.
Gooiboog
The Gooiboog (Dutch for Gooi Curve) is a railway chord which links the Dutch Flevolijn and Gooilijn railway lines. The link is double tracked. The outer, southbound line is 2200 metres long, the inner northbound one is 1400 metre. The outer track is in a dive-under, running beneath the surface level for about 1500 metres, diving underneath the Gooilijn. The Gooiboog offers a direct link between Almere, Hilversum and Utrecht.
Zonnestraal (estate)
The estate Zonnestraal is a former sanatorium in Hilversum, Netherlands. The building was designed by architect Jan Duiker and is an example of the Nieuwe Bouwen. In 1995, the estate was submitted to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites, and it is currently on the tentative list.

On 6 May 2002, Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn was assassinated in Hilversum, North Holland, by Volkert van der Graaf nine days before the Dutch general election of 2002 which he was widely expected to win.

Hollandse Brug
The Hollandse Brug is a bridge which crosses the Gooimeer and the IJmeer in the Netherlands. The bridge carries both the Flevolijn heavy rail railway and the A6 motorway, plus a cycleway and footway.
Auberge la Provence
Auberge Postillion de la Provence is a former restaurant located in Laren, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the periods 1974-1989. Head chef in the Michelin period was Han de Wijs. The restaurant was founded in the 1960s by Martin Fagel. In 1969, he sold the restaurant to Han de Wijs. In 1989, De Wijs sold the restaurant to Stage Door B.V. , who went bankrupt in 1995. In July 1995, shortly after the bankruptcy, the restaurant burnt down.
Spandershoeve
Spandershoeve is a restaurant located in Hilversum, in the Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the period 1998-2007. On the loss of their star, they did receive a Bib Gourmand what they have retained until 2012. Spandershoeve was the first restaurant with an Indonesian styled kitchen to receive a Michelin star. Gault Millau awarded the restaurant 13 out of 20 points. Head chef of Spandershoeve is Jordie James.
Almere Poort
Almere Poort is a district (stadsdeel) of Almere, Netherlands. It is the newest part of what is a new city itself, with the first building completed only in 2005. Although Almere is a planned city, Almere Poort was not in the original city plans, but is rather a result of revised urban planning in accordance to Almere's more recent development plans assuming much higher target population and more prominent role as a satellite urban centre to Amsterdam.
Netherlands Fortress Museum
The Netherlands Fortress Museum (Nederlands Vestingmuseum) is located in the city of Naarden, in The Netherlands. The Museum was established in 1955 in the Turfpoort Bastion, one of the six bastions that give the walled city its distinctive star shape. (During World War II, allied bombers returning to Great Britain from bombing missions used it as a marker. ) The fortifications themselves, including the bastions, date to the period 1675-1685.
