Henderson, New Zealand
Henderson is a major suburb of Auckland, in the North Island of New Zealand. It is located 13 kilometres to the west of Auckland city centre, and two kilometres to the west of the Whau River, a southwestern arm of the Waitemata Harbour.
Whau River
The Whau River is an estuarial arm of the southwestern Waitemata Harbour (rather than a river) within the Auckland metropolitan area in New Zealand. It flows north for 5.7 kilometres from its origin at the confluence of the Avondale Stream and Whau Stream to its mouth between the Te Atatu peninsula and the long, thin Rosebank Peninsula in Avondale. It is 800 metres at its widest and 400 metres wide at its mouth.
Te Atatu
Te Atatu (Maori for "the dawn") is the name of two suburbs in western Auckland, New Zealand: Te Atatu Peninsula and Te Atatu South. They are located next to each other some 10 kilometres to the west of the Auckland city centre. Formerly known as Te Atatu North, the suburb of Te Atatu Peninsula lies, as the name suggests, on a small peninsula.
Henderson Railway Station

West Harbour, Auckland
West Harbour is a suburb of Waitakere City, located in the west of Auckland. It is named for its location on the western side of the Waitemata Harbour. West Harbour is under the local governance of the Waitakere City Council. Local features include many public reserves, two local primary schools, West Harbour School and Marina View School, and farm land. West Harbour is home to Westpark Marina, a large marina catering to over 600 of private leisure boats and yachts.
Massey, New Zealand
Massey is a north-western suburb of the Auckland conurbation. It was formerly a northern suburb of Waitakere City which existed from 1989 to 2010, before being replaced by the Auckland Council. The suburb was named after former Prime Minister of New Zealand William Massey. Massey is a relatively large suburb and can be divided into three reasonably distinctive areas, Massey West, Massey East (separated by the north-western motorway) and Massey North (situated to the north of Royal Road).
Glendene, New Zealand
Glendene is an Auckland suburb. It is under the local governance of the Waitakere City Council. Glendene School and community arts college is a special needs school in the north-east of England in a village called Easington, County Durham. The population was 12,189 in the 2006 Census, an increase of 816 from 2001. Glendene is known for its close-knit, laid back, suburban feel.
Lincoln, Auckland
Lincoln is a West Auckland suburb, in Waitakere City. The Northwestern Motorway passes through the northern part of the suburb, with the "Lincoln Road" junction providing access. Lincoln North mall is a small shopping centre on the corner of Lincoln Road and Universal Drive, and across Universal Drive are a Pak'n Save supermarket and Mitre 10 megastore. The suburb is sometimes called Lincoln North or treated as part of Henderson North to avoid confusion with Lincoln in Canterbury.

Trusts Stadium
Trusts Stadium is an indoor arena located in Waitakere City, Auckland, New Zealand. It is a multi-purpose stadium that primarily holds sports events and music concerts. The Stadium was opened by the Prime Minister Helen Clark on the 11th September 2004. The Stadium Arena has hosted the New Zealand Breakers in the past and has also hosted the Netball World Championships in November 2007. It holds 4,901 people and was built in 2004.
Henderson High School (Auckland)

Westfield WestCity is a major regional shopping centre located in Henderson, a suburb of Waitakere, Auckland, New Zealand, 15.9 kilometres west of the Auckland CBD. It is immediately adjacent to Waitakere Mega Centre, an integrated bulk retail centre, and is in direct competition with Lynnmall in New Lynn and another Westfield Group centre Westfield St Lukes in Morningside.
Hobsonville
Hobsonville is a rural suburban district of the Auckland metropolitan area in the North Island of New Zealand. Home to the former Royal New Zealand Air Force airfield, it is currently being redeveloped as a new suburb of Auckland, in the area of the former Waitakere City. The Hobsonville area (or Hobsonville Corridor) lies between the North Western Motorway and State Highway 16 in the west and the Hobsonville Peninsula and Upper Harbour Bridge in the east.
Laidlaw College
Laidlaw College, formerly known as Bible College of New Zealand (BCNZ), is an evangelical Bible college in New Zealand. The college offers tertiary courses in biblical, theological, historical and pastoral studies. It also offers teaching and counseling degrees. Some students go on to serve as pastors and missionaries, both full-time and part-time.
Waitakere Hospital
Waitakere Hospital is a new (established 2005) general hospital in the Henderson/Lincoln suburb area of Waitakere City, part of the Auckland area of New Zealand. It is administered by the Waitemata District Health Board and serves the Waitakere and Kaipara populations. Opened in 2005, it has 76 medical beds and 6 coronary care beds, a maternity unit and a surgical unit with 2 operating theatres.
Waitakere Mega Centre
Waitakere Mega Centre is an integrated bulk retail shopping centre, located in Henderson, a major suburb of Auckland, New Zealand, on Vitasovich Avenue approximately 15.7 kilometres west of the Auckland CBD immediately adjacent to Westfield WestCity. The centre is configured in 4 freestanding blocks and draws from substantial undercroft parking facilities.
Liston College
Liston College is a college in Auckland, New Zealand, for year 7 to 13 boys and offers a Catholic education to its students. It was the second school opened by the Christian Brothers in Auckland. It was named after Archbishop Liston (1881–1976), the seventh Catholic Bishop of Auckland (1929–1970). The school was founded in 1974 to serve the Catholic families of West Auckland and to absorb the growing number of boys who travelled daily to St Peter's College in central Auckland.
Waitakere College
Waitakere College is a secondary school located in West Auckland, New Zealand. It caters for students from year 9 to year 13. Students entering the college are allocated into one of three "Houses". The house names use Māori words: Aroha (Love), Manawanui (Perseverance), and Matauranga (Knowledge). During the course of the year students can earn points for their house with good behaviour in class and good marks.
St Dominic's College, Henderson
St Dominic's College, Henderson is an integrated college for girls in Year 7 to Year 13 located in Henderson, Auckland, New Zealand. The College was founded by the Dominican Sisters in 1952 in Northcote, Auckland. The school was transferred to Henderson in 1967(?). Motu Manawa (Pollen Island) Marine Reserve
Motu Manawa (Pollen Island) Marine Reserve is a 500 hectares protected area in the Waitemata Harbour in Auckland, New Zealand, established in 1995. It includes the entire area between Rosebank Peninsula and Waterview, and surrounds Pollen and Traherne Islands. Its northeastern boundary runs roughly parallel to Rosebank Peninsula, from the mouth of the Oakley Creek estuary. Its northern-most boundary is north of Pollen Island, at the same latitude as the tip of Point Chevalier.
Pollen Island
Pollen Island or Motu Manawa is an island in the Waitemata Harbour, very near the northern end of Rosebank Peninsula, in Auckland, New Zealand. It is one of two islands surrounded by the Motu Manawa (Pollen Island) Marine Reserve, the other being Traherne Island. The 500 hectares marine reserve was established in 1995. The island is named after Daniel Pollen, who bought it in 1855. He later became Premier of New Zealand.
Traherne Island
Traherne Island is a 13 hectares island in the Waitemata Harbour, very near Rosebank Peninsula, in Auckland, New Zealand. It is one of two islands surrounded by the Motu Manawa (Pollen Island) Marine Reserve, the other being Pollen Island. The 500 hectares marine reserve was established in 1995. Traherne Island is owned by the Crown and managed by New Zealand Transport Agency. The Northwestern Motorway runs along the island and connects it to the mainland by causeways and bridges.
