The Krimpenerwaard, located in the province of South Holland in the Netherlands, is the rural area just south of Gouda and just east of the Rotterdam conurbation. It is borderd on the north by the river Hollandse IJssel, on the south by the river Lek and on the east by the stream Vlist.
