The Poway–Midland Railroad is a heritage railroad in Poway, California. The group "Poway–Midland Railroad Volunteers, Inc. " operates the railroad and was founded in 1991 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration, operation and maintenance of antique railroad equipment. Excursions are run each weekend (the 1st and 3rd weekends using a 1907 Baldwin 0-4-0 steam locomotive). The line has 11 total pieces of railroad equipment.

Hourglass Field

Hourglass Field was the popular name for an auxiliary landing field operated by the United States Navy before and during World War II in the northern part of San Diego, California. It is remembered as a racetrack in the regional road racing circuit and because a crackdown on unauthorized drag racing there triggered the El Cajon Boulevard Riot. A small portion of the original airfield retains the name as a community park.
