Eames House

The Eames House (also known as Case Study House No. 8) is a landmark of mid-20th century modern architecture located at 203 North Chautauqua Boulevard in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles. It was constructed in 1949 by husband-and-wife design pioneers Charles and Ray Eames, to serve as their home and studio.

Riviera Country Club

The Riviera Country Club is a country club with a championship golf course. It is located in Pacific Palisades, California, a community within the city limits of Los Angeles. Designed by golf course architect George C. Thomas, Jr. , it has been the primary host for the PGA Tour's Northern Trust Open (originally the Los Angeles Open), an annual event in February. Riviera has hosted three major championships: the U.S. Open in 1948, and the PGA Championship in 1983 and 1995.

1948 U.S. Open (golf)

The 1948 U.S. Open was the 48th U.S. Open, held June 10–12 at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. Ben Hogan won the first of his four U.S. Open titles at the course that would become known as "Hogan's Alley. " Although Sam Snead held the lead after 36 holes, Hogan dominated the final two rounds, shooting 68-69 on Saturday for a total of 276, two shots ahead of runner-up Jimmy Demaret. Hogan decimated the U.S.

God's Seat

God's Seat is a popular vista and rock formation in Malibu, California, about two miles east of Circle X Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
