Flevoland
Flevoland is a province of the Netherlands. Located in the centre of the country, at the location of the former Zuiderzee, the province was established on January 1, 1986; the twelfth province of the country, with Lelystad as its capital. Schokland
Schokland is a former island in the Dutch Zuiderzee. Schokland lost its status as an island when the Noordoostpolder was reclaimed from the sea in 1942. The remains are still visible as a slightly elevated part in the polder and by the still partly intact retaining wall of the waterfront of 'Middelbuurt'. As a result from the increasing sea-level Schokland transformed from an attractive settlement area in the Middle Ages to a place under continuous threat by floods in the 19th century.
Tollebeek
Tollebeek is a village in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It is a part of the municipality of Noordoostpolder, and is approximately 90 kilometres north east of Amsterdam. Tollebeek is one of ten villages in the Noordoostpolder which was reclaimed from the Zuiderzee in the 1930s and 1940s as part of a huge project known as the 'Zuiderzeewerken' ('Zuiderzee works') to create new land to accommodate growing need for farmland and new urban areas in the already densely populated country.
Creil, Flevoland
Creil is a village in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It is a part of the municipality of Noordoostpolder, and lies about 6 km northwest of Emmeloord. In 2005, Creil had 1,596 inhabitants. Creil serves a small village where local people can go to the church and do their shopping. There is one public school, and one church.
Swifterbant
Swifterbant is a town in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It is a part of the municipality of Dronten, and lies about 13 km northeast of Lelystad. In 2001, Swifterbant had 5761 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 1.54 km², and contained 2237 residences.
Bant
Bant is a village in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It is a part of the municipality of Noordoostpolder, and lies about 7 km north of Emmeloord. Bant was created in 1951 as one of ten planned villages around the new city of Emmeloord, which was constructed in 1943, in land reclaimed from the IJsselmeer. In 2001, Bant had 754 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.2 km², and contained 302 residences.

Espel is a village in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It is a part of the municipality of Noordoostpolder, and lies about 6 km west of Emmeloord. In 2001, Espel had 774 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.29 km², and contained 301 residences.
Nagele
Nagele is a village in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It is a part of the municipality of Noordoostpolder, and lies about 10 km south of Emmeloord. In 2001, Nagele had 1037 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.61 km², and contained 481 residences.
Poldertoren
The Poldertoren is a water tower at the town center of Emmeloord, the Netherlands. The Dutch name Poldertoren could be translated as Polder Tower. The 65-meter tower was built in 1959 and has a large carillon. The tower is no longer in use as a water tower. The owner of the tower was the water company, Vitens, but since 2005 the municipality of Noordoostpolder has owned the tower. A replica of this watertower exists in Japan.
Ketelbrug
The Ketelbrug is bridge spanning the Ketel-lake between the Noordoostpolder and Flevoland in the Netherlands. The motorway A6 runs over it. A part of it is a Bascule bridge. The 800 meter long bridge was opened on 15 June 1970.
Flevopolder
The Flevopolder is a polder, or region of reclaimed land, in Flevoland, Netherlands. The eastern part was drained in 1955 and the southern part in 1968. Unlike other major polders such as Noordoostpolder and the Wieringermeer, the Flevopolder is completely surrounded by bordering lakes, the Veluwemeer, Ketelmeer, and Gooimeer. Therefore it can be considered as a large island; it is the largest artificial island in the world. The name refers to the ancient lake Flevo.
Ketelmeer
The Ketelmeer {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:52.596792|5.762329|type:waterbody_region:NL|||||| | |name= }}, is the tongue of the IJsselmeer into which the IJssel actually drains, it is situated between the polders Noordoostpolder and East Flevoland, and connects the river IJssel to the lake IJsselmeer. It is one of the bordering lakes.
Urk Lighthouse
Urk Lighthouse is a lighthouse in Urk at the eastern banks of the IJsselmeer. From 1617 a coal fire was used for the local fishermen as well as for the ships sailing from Amsterdam to the North Sea. The current lighthouse station was established in 1837. The tower was built in 1845 as a round brick tower attached to a keeper's house. A Fresnel lens is still in use. The lighthouse was restored in 1972 and declared a national monument of the Netherlands in 1982.
Rutten, Flevoland
Rutten is a village in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It is a part of the municipality of Noordoostpolder, and lies about 8 km northwest of Emmeloord. In 2001, Rutten had 681 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.2 km², and contained 292 residences. Rutten has a soccer club called Rutten Komt Op(RKO).
Noordoostpolder Airport
Noordoostpolder Airport was a small airport located near Emmeloord, the Netherlands. The airport was named after the Noordoostpolder in which it was located. It was used primarily by gliders and cropduster flights. The airport was closed to make room for a residential area.
CAH Dronten
The CAH Dronten University of Applied Sciences (Dutch: CAH Dronten Christelijke Agrarische Hoogeschool) is a vocational university, based in Dronten in the central Netherlands.
Almere (lake)

Sonoy
Sonoy is a restaurant located in Emmeloord, in the Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the period 2010–present. Gault Millau awarded the restaurant 16 out of 20 points. Owner and head chef of Sonoy is Paul van Staveren. The restaurant is a member of Alliance Gastronomique Néerlandaise since 2006. Restaurant Sonoy is located in a former water tower, at a height of 40 meters. It occupies four floors.
