Fouhren
Fouhren is a small town in the commune of Tandel, in north-eastern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 353. Fouhren was a commune in the canton of Vianden until 1 January 2006, when it was merged with the commune of Bastendorf to form the new commune of Tandel. The law creating Tandel was passed on 21 December 2004.

Bastendorf is a small town in the commune of Tandel, in north-eastern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 371. Bastendorf was a commune in the canton of Diekirch until 1 January 2006, when it was merged with the commune of Fouhren to form the new commune of Tandel, in Vianden. The law creating Tandel was passed on 21 December 2004.
Tandel
Tandel is a commune and village in eastern Luxembourg, in the canton of Vianden. It lies close to the border with Germany. As of 2001, the village of Tandel, which lies in the centre of the commune, has a population of 87. Other villages within the commune include Bastendorf, Bettel, Brandenbourg, Fouhren and Longsdorf. The commune of Tandel was formed on 1 January 2006 from the former communes of Bastendorf and Fouhren (in the canton of Vianden).
Stolzembourg
Stolzembourg is a village in the commune of Putscheid, in north-eastern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the village has a population of 170. Stolzembourg Castle is located on a hill in the centre of the village. The current building was built on the ruins of the medieval castle in 1898 in the style of a Scottish country house.
Vianden Castle
Vianden Castle, located in Vianden in the north of Luxembourg, is one of the largest fortified castles west of the Rhine. With origins dating from the 10th century, the castle was built in the Romanesque style from the 11th to 14th centuries. Gothic transformations and trimmings were added at the end of this period. A Renaissance mansion was added in the 17th century but thereafter the castle was allowed to fall into ruin. It has, however, recently been fully restored and is open to visitors.
Battle of Vianden
The Battle of Vianden (occasionally called the Battle for Vianden Castle) took place November 19, 1944 in the small town of Vianden in northern Luxembourg, and was one of the most important battles of the Luxembourgish resistance against Nazi Germany during World War II. The Battle of Vianden remains notable for the heavy losses of the 250 Waffen-SS (23 killed), with only light casualties (1 dead, 6 wounded) of the 30 Luxembourgish militia members that defended the town.
Bivels
Bivels is a little village in the commune of Putscheid in north-eastern Luxembourg. It is part of the canton of Vianden in the district of Diekirch. As of 2001, it had 74 inhabitants. The village is located about 3 km north of Vianden along a 7 km long artificial lake. Once a poor farming village, it now benefits from the nearby hydroelectric power plant. In the 1960s when the dam was built, the lower part of the village was flooded.
Brandenbourg Castle
Brandenbourg Castle (French: Château de Brandenbourg), now a ruin, is located on a promontory some 70 metres above the village of Brandenbourg in north-eastern Luxembourg. It has a history going back to the 9th and 10th centuries when there was a wooden fort on the site. The 13th century keep, now 11.9 metres high, used to have four floors, only three of which remain. In 1668, the French attacked the castle which subsequently fell increasingly into ruin. It is now owned by the Luxembourg State.
