California State University San Marcos
California State University San Marcos (also CSUSM or Cal State San Marcos) is a public university in San Marcos, California, United States, and one of the 23 general campuses of the California State University system. San Marcos is a suburban town in the North County area of San Diego County. It was founded in 1989 as the 20th CSU campus. The first class was admitted in 1990. CSU San Marcos offers 62 different Bachelor's degrees, 15 master's degrees, an Ed.D.
Lake Hodges Bridge
The Lake Hodges Bridge is a component of Interstate 15 that spans Lake Hodges, just south of Escondido, California. Lake Hodges Bridge is an important part of San Diego's North-South transportation axis. The original bridge was constructed in 1919. The bridge later became integrated into the newly constructed U.S. Route 395. As part of a roadway realignment and improvement project, the original structure was demolished in 1968, and replaced with a new structure in 1969.

Rancho Vallecitos de San Marcos
Rancho Vallecitos de San Marcos was a 8,975-acre Mexican land grant in present day northern San Diego County, California given in 1840 by Governor Juan Alvarado to Jose María Alvarado. The name means little valleys of St. Mark. The grant was located between Rancho Rincon del Diablo of Alvardo's father, Juan Bautista Alvarado on the east and Rancho Buena Vista on the west, and encompassed present day San Marcos.

Rancho Rincon del Diablo was a 12,653-acre Mexican land grant in present day San Diego County, California given in 1843 to Juan Bautista Alvarado. The name means "the devil's corner" or "the devil's lurking place". The rancho lands include the present day city of Escondido and Rincon Del Diablo.

Classical Academy High School (CAHS) is a public charter school located in Escondido, California. First enrollment began in 2006, offering grades 9 and 10. In 2007, 11th grades positions were open. Palomar Medical Center
Palomar Medical Center (PMC) is a two-campus hospital located in Escondido, California. It is operated by the Palomar Pomerado Health (PPH) District, which also operates Pomerado Hospital in nearby Poway. PMC is the only designated trauma center in northern San Diego County. PMC opened in 1950 as Palomar Memorial Hospital. A tower addition, McLeod Tower, was completed in 1974. The hospital was renamed to Palomar Medical Center in 1987.

Escondido Adventist Academy (EAA) is a Seventh-day Adventist-governed private school in Escondido, California, serving students in grades kindergarten through 12. It is operated by a school board which represents the 14 Seventh-day Adventist churches in San Diego North County. Escondido Adventist Academy is a part of the Southeastern California Conference of the SDA School System. It moved to West 9th Avenue in 1956, where it operated grades 1–10 under the name "Escondido Junior Academy.
Center City High School
Center City High School was an accredited alternative high school located in Escondido, California, part of the Escondido Union High School District. Center City's mode of instruction was independent study, which is an instructional strategy that responds to students' needs and styles of learning. The school closed in 2009 and was replaced by independent learning centers at the district's other high schools.
Lake Hodges
Lake Hodges is a lake and reservoir located in Southern California, about 31 miles north of San Diego and just south of Escondido, California. When full, the reservoir has 1,234 acres, a maximum water depth of 115 feet, and 27 miles of shoreline. Interstate 15 crosses Lake Hodges via the Lake Hodges Bridge. Approximately 1,000 feet west of the I-15 freeway bridge is a bicycle/pedestrian bridge which opened on May 15, 2009 and is the longest stressed ribbon bridge in the world.
Escondido Transit Center
Escondido Transit Center is a bus and train station located in Downtown Escondido, California. It serves as the current eastern terminus of the North County Transit District's SPRINTER light rail line and the northern terminus of the Breeze Rapid bus rapid transit line. There are plans to extend the SPRINTER service to the Westfield North County mall in southern Escondido, north of Lake Hodges.
Cal State San Marcos (NCTD station)
Cal State San Marcos is an elevated station in San Marcos, California. It is the only elevated station along the North County Transit District's SPRINTER light rail line. The station serves the California State University, San Marcos campus, which is located southwest of the station. It is situated on an entirely new alignment of the San Diego Northern Railway's Escondido Branch that crosses over State Route 78 to serve the campus.
Nordahl Road (NCTD station)
Nordahl Road is a station served by North County Transit District's SPRINTER light rail line. The garden is named after Califia, the fictional warrior queen of the mythical Island of California, and inspired by California's rich history and culture. It includes a circular wall and maze entryway, ten large sculptures, and native trees and shrubs planted both inside the plaza and around the outer wall.
Kit Carson Park
Kit Carson Park is a 285 acre municipal park in Escondido, California. The park was named after Christopher (Kit) Carson, the famous scout who guided Captain John C. Frémont over the Sierra Nevada Mountains during a government exploration expedition. The park sits in a valley that is approximately five miles west of where Kit Carson fought in the Battle of San Pasqual. A historical monument commemorating the battle is located on Mule Hill, one mile southeast of the park.
