Pico Rivera, California

Pico Rivera is a city located in southeastern Los Angeles County, California, United States. The city is situated approximately 11 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles, on the eastern edge of the Los Angeles basin, and on the southern edge of the area known as the San Gabriel Valley. The ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles as well as the Los Angeles International Airport are in close proximity. The 2010 census reported that the city had a population of 62,942.

Whittier Narrows Dam

Whittier Narrows Dam is 17 m (56 ft) tall earth dam on the San Gabriel River located, as its name implies, at the Whittier Narrows in Montebello, California. It provides water conservation storage and is also the central element of the Los Angeles County Drainage Area (LACDA) flood control system. Its reservoir has a capacity of 82,720,000 m . The Whittier Narrows are a natural gap in the hills that form the southern boundary of the San Gabriel Valley of Southern California.

KIEV (AM)

KIEV is a radio station call sign associated with a construction permit for 1500 AM in Culver City, California serving the Los Angeles area. Montebello/Commerce Metrolink, a Metrolink train station, is located on a 7.4 acres site at 2000 Flotilla Street in Montebello, California. It is owned and operated by the City of Montebello. Rancho La Merced

Rancho La Merced was a 2,363-acre Mexican land grant in present day Los Angeles County, California given in 1844 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Casilda Soto de Lobo. Operating Industries Inc., Landfill

The former Operating Industries Inc. Landfill is a Superfund site located in Monterey Park, California at 900 N Potrero Grande Drive. From 1948 to 1984, the landfill accepted 30 million tons of solid municipal waste and 300 million US gallons of liquid chemicals. Accumulating over time, the chemical waste polluted the air, leached into groundwater, and posed a fire hazard, spurring severely critical public health complaints.
