Helensville
Helensville is a town in the North Island of New Zealand. It is sited 40 kilometres northwest of Auckland, close to the southern extremity of the Kaipara Harbour. State Highway 16 passes through the town, connecting it to Waimauku 16 km to the south, and Kaukapakapa about 12 km to the north-east. Parakai is 2 km to the north-west. The Kaipara River runs through the town and into the Kaipara Harbour to the north. The population was 2,532 in the 2006 Census, an increase of 315 from 2001.
Parakai
Parakai is a township in the North Island of New Zealand. It is sited 43 kilometres (27 miles) northwest of Auckland, close to the southern extremity of the Kaipara Harbour. Helensville is about 3 km (2 miles) to the south-east, and Waioneke is 22 km (14 miles) to the north-west. The population of Parakai and its surrounds was 1,371 in the 2006 Census, an increase of 189 from 2001. Parakai is noted for its hot springs with geothermal mineral water occurring naturally.
Kaipara River
The Kaipara River drains the area to the northwest of Auckland, New Zealand. It flows north from the northern foothills of the Waitakere Ranges, meandering past the town of Helensville. It is joined by the Kaukapakapa River in its lower tidal reaches shortly before entering the southern Kaipara Harbour. The River is brown in colour as its waters are rich in sediments washed in from the soft Miocene to Quaternary sediments within its catchment.

Kaipara College
Kaipara College is a secondary school in Helensville, New Zealand. The current principal is John Grant. The school began as Helensville District High School in 1924, and changed its name to Kaipara College in 1959. A fire destroyed two classrooms and many resources in December 2006. Notable alumni include All Black Tony Woodcock, Manawatu Standard Editor Michael Cummings, veteran broadcaster Dave Grove and New Zealand Champion Motocross rider Chris Birch.
Kaukapakapa River
The Kaukapakapa River is a river of New Zealand's North Island. It flows west, reaching the southernmost point of the Kaipara Harbour close to the town of Helensville. The small township of Kaukapakapa lies on the banks of the river, some five kilometres from its mouth.
Helensville railway station
Helensville is on the North Auckland Line and is the next major station north of Waitakere. The station still features the original wooden building, which has been restored, and has a shunting yard and KiwiRail Network depot. The platform was modernized in 2007 as part of trial to reintroduce a commuter train service to Auckland. There is an old steam locomotive at the entrance to the platform from the station car park.

West Auckland Airport Parakai West Auckland Airport is a general aviation (GA) airfield on the North Western edge of Auckland, New Zealand, within the Auckland City Local body area. It is close to the town of Parakai and 2 nautical miles (3.8 km) northwest of Helensville at the southern end of the Kaipara Harbour.
