Burnham, Illinois
Burnham is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 4,206 at the 2010 census. The ZIP code is 60633. Burnham has a Chicago ZIP code, and is often mistakenly considered part of Chicago. It is, however, an independent municipality lying just south of the Chicago city limits. Burnham was named for Telford Burnham who drew its plat; not, as is widely assumed, by Chicago city planner and architect Daniel Burnham. There are two sections of Burnham.

Calumet City is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 37,042 at the 2010 census, a decline of 5.2% from 2000. The ZIP code is 60409. Calumet City (commonly referred to locally as "Cal City") was founded in 1892 when the villages of Schrumville and Sobieski Park merged under the name of West Hammond, since it lies on the west side of the Illinois-Indiana border from Hammond, Indiana. In 1924, West Hammond officially changed its name to Calumet City.

Dolton is located just west of the expressway Interstate 94 and immediately south of the city limits of Chicago. Its most common ZIP code is 60419. Dolton has one large water tower, visible from Sibley Boulevard, and also from Greenwood Avenue. It has a wide base and is painted powder blue with the word "DOLTON" on the top.

Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway
The Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway, sometimes referred to as the Lake Shore, was a major part of the New York Central Railroad's Water Level Route from Buffalo, NY to Chicago, primarily along the south shore of Lake Erie and across northern Indiana. The line is still a major corridor, split at Cleveland by CSX and Norfolk Southern in 1998, and hosts Amtrak passenger trains.
Chicago Assembly
Chicago Assembly (frequently Torrence Avenue Assembly) is Ford Motor Company's oldest continually-operated automobile manufacturing plant. It is located at E. 130th Street and Torrence Avenue in the Hegewisch community area of Chicago, Illinois. Chicago Assembly currently builds the Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS, and Ford Explorer, all of which share the same platform. Production started on March 3, 1924, as an alternative production site for the Model T to the River Rouge Plant.
Lake Calumet
Lake Calumet is the largest body of water within the city of Chicago. Formerly a shallow, postglacial lake draining into Lake Michigan, it has been changed beyond recognition by industrial redevelopment and decay. Parts of the lake have been dredged, other parts reshaped by landfill, and the surviving fragment of the lake now, with the rest of the city of Chicago, drains into the Des Plaines River and the Mississippi River basin. Calumet comes from the name of a peace pipe.

The Hegewisch station recently introduced two new high-level platforms, as part of NICTD's continuing effort to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Hegewisch is NICTD's easternmost stop in Chicago and offers pay parking.

WPWX is a mainstream urban radio station that serves the Chicago area. WPWX is owned by Crawford Broadcasting, and broadcasts at 92.3 megahertz. WPWX's urban format debuted in the spring of 2001 in an attempt to go head to head with the longtime urban radio leader in Chicago, WGCI-FM (Crawford Broadcasting previously had a Christian talk format on the 92.3 frequency for over 40 years under the call letters WYCA). The WYCA call letters were in use from 1959-2001.
Hammond–Whiting (Amtrak station)
Hammond–Whiting is a train station in Hammond, Indiana served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. Currently, the Wolverine is the only Amtrak service that stops at this station. The station also used to serve as the split with the Three Rivers until March 7, 2005 when the Three Rivers was terminated. The station was serviced but is now bypassed by the Capitol Limited and the Lake Shore Limited.

Since 1988 it has been 159.359 miles north of the Wabash River. The obelisk was constructed by the Office of the United States Surveyor General ca. 1838.
