Marina Beach

Marina Beach is a natural urban beach in the city of Chennai, India, along the Bay of Bengal, part of the Indian Ocean. The beach runs from near Fort St. George in the north to Besant Nagar in the south, a distance of 13 km, making it the longest natural urban beach in the country and the world's second longest. The Marina is primarily sandy, unlike the short, rocky formations that make up the Juhu Beach in Mumbai.

Cooum River

The Cooum River is a polluted river which ends in the city of Chennai (formerly Madras) draining into the Bay of Bengal. Along with the Adyar River running parallel to the south, the river trifurcates the city and separates Northern Chennai from Central Chennai. The river is considered to be the shortest classified river draining into the Bay of Bengal and is only about 72 km long. Its source is in a place by the same name 'Cooum' or 'Koovam' in Tiruvallur district adjoining Chennai district.

The Island, Chennai

The Island is a river island situated on the Coovum River in the northern part of the Indian city of Chennai. The island was created artificially in the early 19th century by merging the Coovum River with the then Elambore River. Napier Bridge

Napier Bridge is a bridge in Chennai (Madras), India, built over the Coovum River connecting Fort St. George with the Marina beach.
