Emba is one of the largest villages in Paphos, Cyprus. It is spread over a wide area and not only borders Paphos but also the villages of Chlorakas, Kissonerga, Tala, Tremithousa and Mesogi. It has a population of 4,500 people. The village already existed by the Byzantine era and it is known from the Frankish period with the same name. Tombs of the Kings (Paphos)
The Tombs of the Kings (Greek: Τάφοι των Βασιλέων) is a large necropolis lying about two kilometres north-west of Paphos harbour in Cyprus. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The underground tombs, many of which date back to the 4th century BCE, are carved out of solid rock, and are thought to have been the burial sites of Paphitic aristocrats and high officials up to the third century CE (the name comes from the magnificence of the tombs; no kings were in fact buried here).
Lempa is a village in Cyprus located approximately 4 km (2.5 mi) north of the town of Paphos. It is sometimes written as Lemba, which is also closer to the correct pronunciation. Neighboring villages are Empa, Kissonerga and Chlorakas. The village is located on top of an escarpment overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, and is set in one of the most fertile parts of Cyprus.
Paphos General Hospital
Paphos General Hospital is the Paphos district's main medical centre. With four stories and 25.000m this pyramid shaped hospital is designed to offer to patients first aid to MRI Scans. When opened in 1992 it was considered one of the best medical centers in the Middle East. Nowadays this is not valid. The hospital was left to decline and it is currently unable to handle the rapidly growing population of Paphos.
Tala is a large suburban village 6 km due north of the city centre of Paphos, Cyprus. Many non-Cypriots have moved here permanently or have a summer home in Tala. Ayios Neofytos Monastery is 1 km north. Tala is the ancestral village of the singer Cat Stevens. His father, Stavros Georgiou, was born here in 1900.
