Atomium
The Atomium is an iconic building in Brussels originally constructed for Expo '58, the 1958 Brussels World's Fair. Designed by the engineer André Waterkeyn with interiors by architects André and Jean Polak, it stands 102 m tall. Its nine 18 m diameter stainless steel clad spheres are connected so that the whole forms the shape of a unit cell of an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times. Tubes connect the spheres along the 12 edges of the cube and all eight vertices to the centre.
Heysel Plateau
The Heysel Exhibition Park is the place in the north of the centre of Brussels, Belgium, where the Brussels International Exposition (1935) and the Expo '58 took place. The Atomium, built for the World's Fair of 1958, is the most impressive monument in the Heysel Park. The Centenary Palace is one of the remaining buildings of the World's Fair of 1935. Currently it's still being used for trade fairs. The Heysel Park is also the location of the Heysel Stadium, built in 1930.
Expo 58
Expo 58, also known as the Brussels World’s Fair (Dutch: Brusselse Wereldtentoonstelling, French: Exposition Universelle et Internationale de Bruxelles), was held from 17 April to 19 October 1958. It was the first major World's Fair after World War II.

Royal Greenhouses of Laeken
The Royal Greenhouses of Laeken, are a vast complex of monumental heated greenhouses in the park of the Royal Castle of Laeken in Brussels and one of the major tourist attractions of the city. The complex was commissioned by King Leopold II of Belgium and designed by Alphonse Balat. Built between 1874 and 1895, the complex was finished with the completion of the so-called 'Iron Church', a domed greenhouse that would originally serve as the royal chapel.
Philips Pavilion
The Philips Pavilion was a World's Fair pavilion designed for Expo '58 in Brussels by the office of Le Corbusier. Commissioned by Philips, an electronics company based in the Netherlands, the pavilion was designed to house a multimedia spectacle that celebrated postwar technological progress.

The 15th European Cross Country Championships were held at Brussels in Belgium on 14 December 2008. Serhiy Lebid took his eighth title in the men's competition and Hilda Kibet won the women's race.
Strombeek-Bever
Strombeek-Bever is an urbanised town with about 11,500 inhabitants in the municipality of Grimbergen, in the province of Flemish Brabant, Belgium. A suburb on the north side of Brussels, it is separated from Grimbergen proper by the R0 ring road around the city. It borders Laken to the south and the municipality of Vilvoorde to the east. The official language is Dutch (as everywhere in Flanders). Strombeek is home to a substantial minority of French-speakers.
