Geography of Bahrain
Bahrain (from the Arabic word for "two seas" — itself an inaccurate folk etymology for the much older, Semitic term, Bahran) comprises an archipelago of thirty-three islands in the Persian Gulf, situated close to the shore of the Arabian Peninsula. The islands are about twenty-four kilometers from the east coast of Saudi Arabia and twenty-eight kilometers from Qatar. The total area of the islands is about 691 square kilometers, or about four times the size of the District of Columbia.
The Northern Governorate is one of the five governorates of Bahrain. It includes parts of the former municipalities of Al Mintaqah al Gharbiyah, Al Mintaqah al Wusta, Al Mintaqah al Shamaliyah, Jidd Haffs and Madinat Hamad.
Western Region, Bahrain
Al Mintaqah al Gharbiyah was a municipality of Bahrain in the western part of the country. Its territory is now in the Northern and Southern Governorates.
Isa Town is a middle class town located in Bahrain in the north central part of the country.
Bahrain National Stadium
The Bahrain National Stadium is the national stadium of Bahrain, located in East Riffa. It can accommodate 35,000 people and is used mostly for football matches. It was built in 1982. The stadium was renovated in December 2012 for hosting the 2013 Gulf Cup of Nations tournament. New look grandstand roof, seating, new pitch, fences, turnstiles and all interiors refurbished.

Built as a fort during the reign of Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa in 1812, while another source claim that it was built during the rule of the Persian Safavid Empire of Iran over Bahrain during the 17th century, the fort was converted into a residence in the 19th century for Shaikh Salman Bin Ahmed (Al Fateh) Al Khalifa. Riffa Fort or it is now named (Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Fort) offers a splendid view across the Hunanaiya valley.

Khalifa Sports City Stadium
Khalifa Sports City Stadium, also known as Isa Town Stadium, is a multi-use stadium in Isa Town, Bahrain. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Al-Najma. The stadium holds 20,000 people and was opened in 1968. It was last renovated in 2007. The stadium hosted nine games of the 2013 Gulf Cup of Nations.
British University in Dubai
The British University in Dubai (BUiD) was established in 2004, and is the Middle East region's first, research based, postgraduate university. Awali is a small municipality located approximately in the centre of the Kingdom of Bahrain, a small island in the Persian Gulf. Founded in the 1930s by the Bahrain Petroleum Company, it is populated mostly by workers of various nationalities from around the world whose skills were needed in the setting up and running of the refinery at Sitrah. To its north are Bahrain's oil refinery and to its south are the oil wells and the desert area of Sakhir.

Al-Sakhir Palace, also known as Sakhir Palace, is a palace in the Sakhir desert region of western Bahrain. The palace lies off the Zallaq Highway, northeast of the Bahrain International Circuit, the town of Zallaq and the Gulf University. It lies southwest of Sadad, Shahrakan and Dar Kulaib, the nearest town to the palace.
Al Rawda Palace
Al Rawda Palace is a palace in western Bahrain. The Palace lies north by road from Al-Sakhir Palace and just east of Madinat Hamad in Ar-Rifa.
Shaikh Isa Palace
Shaikh Isa Palace is a palace in western Bahrain. The Palace lies just northeast of Al Rawda Palace in Riffa.
Royal University for Women
The Royal University for Women (RUW) in the Kingdom of Bahrain is the first private, purpose-built, international university in the country that is dedicated solely to educating the women of Bahrain. Established in 2005, the initial degree programmes of the university were designed in collaboration with McGill University in Canada and Middlesex University in the United Kingdom.
Jurdab is one of the smallest villages of Bahrain. It neighbors the villages of Jid Ali and Sanad and the 9th area in Isa Town.
Information Affairs Authority
The Information Affairs Authority is the name for Bahrain's Ministry of Information. It was formed in July 2010 by a decree of King Hamad separating the information portfolio from what was then known as the "Ministry of Culture and Information". The president of the Information Affairs Authority is appointed directly by the King of Bahrain and has the rank of a minister in the Bahrain government.

Al Enma Mall
Al Enma Mall is a newly constructed multi-story shopping mall situated in the East Riffa city of the Kingdom of Bahrain. It was opened to the public on 15 August 2012. The mall features 600 parking spaces, and covers 55,000 square metres. The popular retail chain Géant Hypermarket opened its second outlet in the country at the mall.
Shahrakan is a village situated in the western side of the Kingdom of Bahrain, south of the village of Malkiya. The village lies in the Northern Governorate administrative region. The village was a site of unrest during the Bahrain uprising.
Sadad is a coastal village situated on the western shore of Bahrain. It is situated to the south of Malkiya and to the west of Hamad Town, in the Northern Governorate administrative region of the country. During the Bahrain uprising, the village was a hotspot for clashes between police and anti−government protesters.
