Nord-Est Department
Nord-Est (English: North-East, Haitian Creole: Nòdès) is one of the ten departments of Haiti. It has an area of 1,805 km² and a population of 283,800 (2002). Its capital is Fort-Liberté. It used to be part of Nord Department. It borders the Dominican Republic to the east. Monte Cristi (Dominican Republic)
San Fernando de Monte Cristi is the capital of Monte Cristi Province, Dominican Republic. It is located in the northwest of the country in the coastal lowlands, close to the border with Haiti.
Yaque del Norte River
The Yaque Del Norte River is the longest river in the Dominican Republic. The river rises in the centre of the country to the south of Santiago city in Santiago province. The river runs roughly due north, through Santiago, before turning west-north-west through the Cibao Valley. The river's source originates in the Cordillera Central as small rivulets, before merging into one as they flow north down toward the Cibao Valley. It enters the Manzanillo Bay in the Atlantic just west of Monte Cristi.
Dajabón Airport
Dajabón National Airport is a small airport that serves Dajabón Province in the western Dominican Republic, on the border with Haiti. It supports only small aircraft and has some domestic flights.
Monte Cristi National Park
Monte Cristi National Park (Parque National Monte Cristi) is a national park on the Caribbean Island of Hispanola that extends from the borders of Haiti to Punta Rucia in the Dominican Republic and covers an area of 550 km². Its contains coastal lagoons, beaches, mangrove swamps, a 237 m (777 ft) limestone mesa from which can be seen off shore keys and forested slopes of the mesa's northern side. The area is very dry, receiving just over two inches of rain per year.

Fort la Bouque
Fort la Bouque (commonly referred by locals as labouc) is one of three colonial forts in the North East area of Haiti or more specifically the Arrondissement of Fort-Liberte.
