Latrobe, Tasmania
Latrobe is a town in northern Tasmania, Australia on the Mersey River. It is 8 km south-east of Devonport on the Bass Highway. It is the main centre of the Latrobe Council. At the 2006 census, Latrobe had a population of 2,843. The area was first settled by B. B. Thomas in 1826 and, in 1861, the settlement was named for Charles Joseph Latrobe (1801-1875), the administrator of the colony of Tasmania. La Trobe Post Office opened on 31 August 1860 and was renamed Latrobe in 1873.

The Mersey Hospital, near Devonport in Tasmania is a campus of the North West Regional Hospital, the main healthcare facility for the North Western region of Tasmania, Australia. Under the Tasmanian Government's 2007 plan to reform its health system, the Mersey campus was to be downgraded with certain care services transferred to Burnie.
Geneva Christian College
Geneva Christian College is a K-12 Christian school in Latrobe, outside of Devonport Tasmania. The school's mission statement is encapsulated in Proverbs 3:6: "In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. " The school is located just outside Latrobe, situated on 50 hectares of farm and bushland, and has a particularly strong focus on horticulture in their curriculum.
