Cleveland School massacre

The Cleveland School massacre (also known as the Stockton schoolyard shooting) occurred on January 17, 1989, at Cleveland Elementary School at 20 East Fulton Street in Stockton, California, United States. The gunman, Patrick Purdy, who had a long criminal history, shot and killed five schoolchildren, and wounded 29 other schoolchildren and one teacher, before committing suicide. His victims were predominantly Southeast Asian refugees.

Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium

The Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium is a performance venue in Stockton, California. Construction began in 1924 and the auditorium opened in November 1925, it seats about 3,000 people. Local architects Glenn Allen, Ivan C. Satterlee and W.J. Wright were awarded construction, while Stocktonians conducted bond drives to fund construction of the Memorial Auditorium to honor those who gave their lives while serving in the Armed Forces in World War I.

Billy Hebert Field

Billy Hebert Field is a stadium in Stockton, California. It is primarily used for baseball and was the home field of the Stockton Ports until the moved to Banner Island Ballpark in 2005. The stadium continues to be used as a venue for high school baseball playoffs. It also has been used as a practice facility for the Stockton Lightning minor Arena League football team. The ballpark has a capacity of 6,000 people and opened in 1953.

KJOY

KJOY is an FM radio station serving the Stockton area with its lite rock format. It broadcasts on the FM frequency 99.3 MHz and is under ownership of Cumulus Media. KJOY 99.3 signed on the air as KJAX in 1968 with an Instrumental Easy Listening Music format also known as Elevator Music and Beautiful Music. It was known as Cloud 99. It was originally owned by Joseph Gamble Stations Inc. and was the FM sister station to KJOY 1280 AM.

The historic station building was built by the Southern Pacific Railroad and was named in 2003 after the late Robert J. The overall design of the station is based on Italian Renaissance and Spanish Revival prototypes.
