Billy Hebert Field

Billy Hebert Field is a stadium in Stockton, California. It is primarily used for baseball and was the home field of the Stockton Ports until the moved to Banner Island Ballpark in 2005. The stadium continues to be used as a venue for high school baseball playoffs. It also has been used as a practice facility for the Stockton Lightning minor Arena League football team. The ballpark has a capacity of 6,000 people and opened in 1953.

KWG

KWG is an AM radio station in Stockton, California. KWG is one of the oldest broadcasting stations in USA, signing on November 22, 1921. It is considered the first commercially licensed radio station west of the Mississippi River although not the first radio station to be founded on the West Coast — see KCBS (AM). One of the more notable owners of KWG was Barnes Enterprises, led by Johnny Jacobs, the off-screen announcer for Chuck Barris Productions' various game shows for many years.

KJOY is an FM radio station serving the Stockton area with its lite rock format. It broadcasts on the FM frequency 99.3 MHz and is under ownership of Cumulus Media. KJOY 99.3 signed on the air as KJAX in 1968 with an Instrumental Easy Listening Music format also known as Elevator Music and Beautiful Music. It was known as Cloud 99. It was originally owned by Joseph Gamble Stations Inc. and was the FM sister station to KJOY 1280 AM.

Robert J. Cabral Station

Robert J. Cabral Station, otherwise known as the Stockton – Downtown Station or Stockton ACE Station, is a railway station in Stockton, California. The historic station building was built by the Southern Pacific Railroad and was named in 2003 after the late Robert J. Cabral, a San Joaquin County supervisor instrumental in the creation of the Altamont Commuter Express (ACE). The overall design of the station is based on Italian Renaissance and Spanish Revival prototypes.

Stockton Cannery Strike of 1937

The Stockton Cannery Strike of 1937, also known as the Spinach Riot, was the bloody culmination of conflict between the Agricultural Workers Organization local and the California Processors and Growers in the San Joaquin Valley of California. The riots of April 23, 1937, in which both sides were armed with clubs and firearms, began in front of a Stockton cannery and resulted in one death, over fifty serious injuries and tied up the movement of a $6 million vegetable crop.
