University of the Pacific (United States)

The University of the Pacific (UOP or Pacific) is a private university in Stockton, California. It was first chartered on July 10, 1851, in Santa Clara, CA under the name California Wesleyan College, but it was later moved to San Jose, and then to Stockton in 1923. Pacific is the oldest chartered university in California.

Cleveland School massacre

The Cleveland School massacre (also known as the Stockton schoolyard shooting) occurred on January 17, 1989, at Cleveland Elementary School at 20 East Fulton Street in Stockton, California, United States. The gunman, Patrick Purdy, who had a long criminal history, shot and killed five schoolchildren, and wounded 29 other schoolchildren and one teacher, before committing suicide. His victims were predominantly Southeast Asian refugees.

Billy Hebert Field

Billy Hebert Field is a stadium in Stockton, California. It is primarily used for baseball and was the home field of the Stockton Ports until the moved to Banner Island Ballpark in 2005. The stadium continues to be used as a venue for high school baseball playoffs. It also has been used as a practice facility for the Stockton Lightning minor Arena League football team. The ballpark has a capacity of 6,000 people and opened in 1953.

KJOY

KJOY is an FM radio station serving the Stockton area with its lite rock format. It broadcasts on the FM frequency 99.3 MHz and is under ownership of Cumulus Media. KJOY 99.3 signed on the air as KJAX in 1968 with an Instrumental Easy Listening Music format also known as Elevator Music and Beautiful Music. It was known as Cloud 99. It was originally owned by Joseph Gamble Stations Inc. and was the FM sister station to KJOY 1280 AM.
