Ina Coolbrith

Ina Donna Coolbrith (March 10, 1841 – February 29, 1928) was an American poet, writer, librarian, and a prominent figure in the San Francisco Bay Area literary community. Called the "Sweet Singer of California", she was the first California Poet Laureate and the first poet laureate of any American state. Rockridge (BART station)

Rockridge is a Bay Area Rapid Transit station located in the Rockridge District of Oakland, California. The station has an island platform in the center median of State Route 24 at College Avenue west of the Caldecott Tunnel. Service at this station began on May 21, 1973, following the completion of the Berkeley Hills Tunnel, which connects it to Orinda Station. This station is in BART District 3 and is represented by Bob Franklin.

Rockridge is generally defined as the area east of Telegraph Avenue, south of the Berkeley city limits, west of the Oakland hills and north of the intersection of Pleasant Valley Avenue/51st Street and Broadway. It is known for being one of the wealthiest areas of Oakland. Rockridge was listed by Money Magazine in 2002 as one of the "best places to live". It lies at an elevation of 187 feet (57 m).

Mountain View Cemetery (Oakland, California)

The Mountain View Cemetery is a large 226-acre cemetery in Oakland, California. It was established in 1863 by a group of East Bay pioneers under the California Rural Cemetery Act of 1859. The association they formed still operates the cemetery today. Mountain View was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the landscape architect who also designed New York City's Central Park and much of UC Berkeley and Stanford University.

The Berkeley Hills Tunnel is a tunnel which carries Bay Area Rapid Transit's Pittsburg/Bay Point–SFO/Millbrae line through the Berkeley Hills between the Rockridge and Orinda stations. While the tracks run in the median of California State Route 24 on both sides of the tunnel, the Berkeley Hills Tunnel allows the tracks to take a straighter alignment offset to the north of the Caldecott Tunnel.

The present building dates largely from a 1928 redevelopment based on the designs of the architect Julia Morgan.
