Coquitlam River
The Coquitlam River is located in between the cities of Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam, suburban municipalities located in Metro Vancouver. This river is a tributary of the Fraser River. Each year hundreds of salmon return to spawn in the Coquitlam River. There is a reservoir near the headwaters of the river called Coquitlam Lake. This lake provides a large portion of Vancouver's drinking water. Part of the Port Coquitlam Tributary Trail and the Trans Canada trail run alongside this river.
Port Mann Bridge
The Port Mann Bridge is a newly designed 10-lane cable-stayed bridge that opened to traffic in 2012. It is currently the second longest cable-stayed bridge in North America and the widest bridge in the world. The new bridge replaced a steel bridge that spanned the Fraser River, connecting Coquitlam to Surrey in British Columbia near Vancouver.
Coquitlam Sports Centre
Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex is a multi-purpose all-season recreation complex in Coquitlam, British Columbia. The facility is used by a wide variety of groups including hockey, lacrosse, and ringette teams, curlers, and figure skaters. The facility has 3 different playing surfaces. The main arena features an NHL standard 200' x 85' playing surface with seating for 2200 spectators. An annex provides an additional 200' x 85' playing surface and a six sheet curling rink.

Chimo Aquatic and Fitness Centre
The Chimo Aquatic and Fitness Centre is a 38,000-square-foot indoor aquatic centre located in central Coquitlam, British Columbia, next to the Coquitlam Sports Centre. The building was designed by Hughes Condon Marler Architects, built at a cost of $12.4 million (construction cost), and opened in the spring of 2008.

Port Mann
Port Mann townsite was created in 1911 in the municipality of Surrey, British Columbia. The new town was to adjoin the new railway yard and roundhouse forming the terminus of the new trans-national rail-line operated by Canadian Northern Railway. Newspaper quoted that the town was intended to be a model town. Purchase of sections had been completed by 1911 and clearing of the forest had begun. The sale of lots began in March 1912 and by June 1912 all land in the townsite had been sold.
