Adelaide

Adelaide is the capital city of South Australia and the fifth-largest city in Australia. According to the 2011 census, Adelaide has a population of 1.23 million. The demonym "Adelaidean" is used in reference to the city and its residents. Adelaide is north of the Fleurieu Peninsula, on the Adelaide Plains between the Gulf St Vincent and the low-lying Mount Lofty Ranges which surround the city.

Victoria Square, Adelaide

Victoria Square, also known as Tarndanyangga, is a public square in the South Australian capital of Adelaide. The square is in the centre of the city's grid of one square mile. The Kaurna people know the area as Tarndanyangga, "The Dreaming Place of the Red Kangaroo". The area was named "Victoria Square" by the Street Naming Committee on 23 May 1837, after Princess Victoria, heir presumptive of the British throne. Less than a month later the King died and Victoria became Queen.

Tarndanyangga derives from tarnda and kanya ('rock'), -ngga is a suffix frequently found in Kaurna place names to denote location.

Myer Centre, Adelaide

The Myer Centre is a multi-storey shopping and office complex on Rundle Mall in Adelaide. It features over 120 speciality stores as well as its main tenant Myer who occupy five floors. There is also a food court on the lower ground floor as well as several levels of underground car parking. The fourth and fifth floors once contained an entertainment area known as Dazzleland, Adelaide, which featured attractions including an indoor roller-coaster, that has since been removed.

Grenfell Centre

Grenfell Centre is a high rise office building and is the third tallest building in Adelaide, Australia. with a height of 103 metres (338 feet). It was the tallest building in the city until surpassed by the Telstra House in 1987. It comprises 26 floors and was completed in 1973. In the 1980s, the building's foyer and interior were refurbushed. The 11 metre tall antenna was attached in 1980 and upgraded with digital transmitters in 2003.
