Paradise Valley, Arizona
Paradise Valley is a small, affluent town in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States. According to the 2005 Census Bureau, the population of the town was 14,558. Despite the town's relatively small area and population compared to other municipalities in the Phoenix metropolitan area, Paradise Valley is home to twelve resorts, making it one of Arizona's premiere tourist destinations.
Arizona Canal
The Arizona Canal is a major canal in central Maricopa County that led to the founding of several communities, now among the wealthier neighborhoods of suburban Phoenix, in the late 1880s. Flood irrigation of residential yards is still common in these neighborhoods, using a system of lateral waterways connected via gates to the canal itself. Like most Valley canals, its banks are popular with joggers and bicyclists.
Camelback Mountain
Camelback Mountain is a mountain in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The English name is derived from its shape, which resembles the hump and head of a kneeling camel. The mountain, a prominent landmark for the metropolitan Phoenix valley, is located in the Camelback Mountain Echo Canyon Recreation Area between the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix and the town of Paradise Valley. It is a popular recreation destination for hiking and rock climbing.
Phoenix Mountains
The Phoenix Mountains are a mountain range located in central Phoenix, Arizona. With the exception of Mummy Mountain, they are part of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. They serve as a municipal park and offer hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trails at a variety of different access points.
Rose Pauson House
The Rose Pauson House in Phoenix, Arizona was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1939 and built 1940 -1942. In 1943 the house burned down when a fallen ember from the fireplace ignited a hand-woven curtain on a nearby window. All that remained was the ruins of the foundation and walls. The ruins became a local landmark known as "Shiprock" due to their prominent shape and location. The building was located on a hillock on the present alignment of 32nd Street.

Mummy Mountain (Arizona)
Mummy Mountain is a mountain situated in Paradise Valley, Arizona, United States. The mountain is located at latitude 33°32'32.94"N longitude 111°57'40.92"W and rises to an elevation of 2,021 feet (616.00 m) above sea level. The formation is predominantly Precambrian granite with outcroppings of quartz and schorl. The slopes of the mountain incorporate suburban residential development while the upper summit areas are conservations sites.
Deaths of Lawrence and Glenna Shapiro
The deaths of Lawrence and Glenna Shapiro involved the homicide victims Dr. Lawrence Shapiro (aged 79) and his wife of 51 years, Glenna (aged 78) on January 30, 2012, in Paradise Valley, Arizona. The Shapiros' homicide was a shock to the Phoenix metropolitan community, and their deaths and the subsequent police investigations received widespread attention in the national press. Prosecutors have speculated about a link between their deaths and that of Bruce Gaudet.
