Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport

Imam Khomeini International Airport is located in Ahmadabad, Iran. The airport is located about 30 kilometres southwest of the city near the localities of Robat-Karim and Eslamshahr. It was designed to replace Mehrabad International Airport, which is in the west of the city, now inside the city boundaries. The airport, originally designated as Ahmadabad but was later renamed to Imam Khomeini International Airport in honor of Ruhollah Khomeini.

The Azadi Stadium formerly Aryamehr Stadium is Iran's national stadium and the largest in the country. The Azadi stadium was built to host the 1974 Asian Games and has a capacity of 84,412 people. Offside is a 2006 Iranian film directed by Jafar Panahi, about girls who try to watch a World Cup qualifying match but are forbidden by law because of their sex. Female fans are not allowed to enter football stadiums in Iran on the grounds that there will be a high risk of violence or verbal abuse against them. The film was inspired by the director's daughter, who decided to attend a game anyway. The film was shot in Iran but its screening was banned there.
