Dubbo
Dubbo is a city in the Orana Region of New South Wales, Australia. It is the largest population centre in the Orana region, with a population of 32,327 and serves an estimated catchment of 130,000. It is located at the intersection of the Mitchell, Newell and Golden highways. Dubbo is located approximately 275 m above sea level, 303 km north-west of the state capital Sydney and is a major road and rail freight hub to other parts of New South Wales.
Taronga Western Plains Zoo
Taronga Western Plains Zoo, formerly known as Western Plains Zoo and commonly known as Dubbo Zoo, is a large zoo near Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia. It opened to the public on 28 February 1977, to provide more living and breeding space for large animals such as elephants and antelopes which needed more space than was available at the restricted Sydney site. The zoo is run by the Taronga Conservation Society (formerly Zoological Parks Board of New South Wales), along with Taronga Zoo.

Dundullimal Homestead
Dundullimal Homestead is a colonial slab hut type homestead located about 10 km south of Dubbo, New South Wales, on Obley Road and the Macquarie River. It is located six kilometres further out of town than Western Plains Zoo. Built in the early 1840s as the head station of a 6,500 hectare squatting run, the building is believed to be the oldest surviving slab hut house in Australia. The homestead is also Dubbo's oldest building open to the public.
Geurie, New South Wales
Geurie is a small village in central-west New South Wales, Australia in Wellington Council. It is located midway between Wellington and Dubbo in the Orana Region of the State. It is located on the Main Western railway line, and is served by the daily Countrylink XPT service between Sydney and Dubbo. At the 2006 census, Geurie had a population of 466. It was the scene of a notable transport accident in 1963.

The City of Dubbo is a local government area in the Orana region of New South Wales, Australia. The area is located adjacent to the Mitchell, Newell, and the Golden highways, the Main Western railway line, and the Macquarie River. The largest population centre is the regional city of Dubbo. Mogriguy, New South Wales
Mogriguy is a small village located approximately 30 km north of Dubbo in central west New South Wales, Australia. Situated on the Mogriguy Road, and the main Dubbo-Lightning Ridge railway line, it has a population of about 25. The area surrounding the village is predominantly sheep grazing and wheat growing country.

Wongarbon is a small village that lays approximately 18 km. east of Dubbo just off the Mitchell Highway between Dubbo and Wellington, New South Wales, Australia. At the 2006 census, Wongarbon had a population of 449. The village has a three-teacher primary school, convenience store/post office and a pub.
Troy Junction – Merrygoen railway line
The Troy Junction - Merrygoen railway line is a railway line in northern New South Wales, Australia. It forms part of a cross country railway line between Dubbo in the state's central West, and Werris Creek on the Main North line, allowing goods from the west of the state to access the Hunter ports, bypassing Sydney. This section of line is likely to form part of the Inland Railway from Melbourne to Brisbane.

ABC Western Plains is an ABC Local Radio station based in Dubbo, New South Wales. The broadcast region stretches from Wellington north to Goodooga and west from Coonabarabran to Wilcannia. The station covers the top half of the Far West region and part of the Orana region of New South Wales.
Old Dubbo Gaol
Old Dubbo Gaol was a prison in the city of Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia. It was the second gaol in Dubbo, replacing lockups built in 1847 and 1862. When closed, the State Government planned its demolition and replacement with a multi-storey office block. Protests led by the city council and historical society led to the plans being dropped.
