Yosemite Falls

Yosemite Falls is the highest measured waterfall in North America. Located in Yosemite National Park in the Sierra Nevada of California, it is a major attraction in the park, especially in late spring when the water flow is at its peak. The total 2,425 feet from the top of the upper falls to the base of the lower falls qualifies Yosemite Falls as the sixth highest waterfall in the world, though with the recent discovery of Gocta Cataracts, it appears on some lists as seventh.

Four Mile Trail

Four Mile Trail is a moderate to strenuous trail leading from Yosemite Valley to Glacier Point. The trail begins at the valley floor west of the Swinging Bridge recreation area, and climbs the south side 4.8 miles up to Glacier Point, an elevation change of 3,200 feet . Four Mile Trail was originally constructed in 1872 and was 4 miles in length. In the early 1900s the trail was reconstructed and lengthened to 4.8 miles, yet the original name remained.

Lost Arrow Spire Tip

The Lost Arrow Spire Tip is a popular technical climbing route up Lost Arrow Spire. This route begins at an area called The Notch. The Notch can be reached by making two rappels from valleys main wall or by climbing to it via another route from the base of the Lost Arrow Spire. For example the Lost Arrow Spire Chimney uses the Lost Arrow Spire Tip as its finish.

The Lost Arrow Spire Chimney in Yosemite National Park is the first technical climbing route to ascend the entire Lost Arrow Spire. This route shares the last two pitches with the Lost Arrow Spire Tip route which can also be reached by rappelling from above. The route is recognized in the historic climbing text Fifty Classic Climbs of North America and considered a classic around the world.

Lost Arrow Spire

The Lost Arrow Spire is a detached pillar in Yosemite Valley, California, located immediately adjacent to Upper Yosemite Falls. The structure includes the Lost Arrow Spire Chimney route which is recognized in the historic climbing text Fifty Classic Climbs of North America. The last two pitches of Lost Arrow Spire Chimney are called the Lost Arrow Spire Tip and completes the detached portion of the spire. The Tip route is often reached by rappelling into an area known as The Notch.

Steck-Salathé Route (Sentinel Rock)

The Steck-Salathé Route is a technical climbing route up Sentinel Rock. The route was first climbed June 30 - July 4, 1950, by Allen Steck and John Salathé, up the 1,600-foot north face of Sentinel Rock in Yosemite Valley. The route is recognized in the historic climbing text Fifty Classic Climbs of North America. Derek Hersey died while free soloing the route in 1993.

Yosemite Museum

The Yosemite Museum is located in Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park in California. Founded in 1926 through the efforts of Ansel Franklin Hall, the museum's displays focus on the heritage and culture of the Ahwahnechee people who lived in the valley. The collection also includes both utilitarian and made-for-sale baskets dating from c. 1870 to present and is one of the only existing collections encompassing this depth and time span for any group in California.
