Vukovar
Vukovar is a city in eastern Croatia, and the biggest river port in Croatia located at the confluence of the Vuka river and the Danube. Vukovar is the center of the Vukovar-Syrmia County. The city's registered population was 26,716 in the 2011 census, with a total of 28,016 in the municipality.
Vučedol culture
The Vučedol culture flourished between 3000 and 2200 BC (the Eneolithic period of earliest copper-smithing), centered in Syrmia and eastern Slavonia on the right bank of the Danube river, but possibly spreading throughout the Pannonian plain and western Balkans and southward. It was thus contemporary with the Sumer period in Mesopotamia, the Early Dynastic period in Egypt and the earliest settlements of Troy (Troy I and II). Some authors regard it as an Indo-European culture.
Battle of Vukovar
The Battle of Vukovar (Croatian: Bitka za Vukovar, Serbian: Битка за Вуковар, Bitka za Vukovar) was an 87-day siege of Vukovar in eastern Croatia by the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA), supported by various paramilitary forces from Serbia, between August and November 1991. Before the Croatian War of Independence the Baroque town was a prosperous, mixed community of Croats, Serbs and other ethnic groups.
Borovo Selo killings
The Borovo Selo killings of 2 May 1991 (known in Croatia as the Borovo Selo massacre, Croatian: Pokolj u Borovom Selu and in Serbia as the Borovo Selo incident, Serbian: Инцидент у Боровом Селу) was one of the first military engagements which led to the breakup of Yugoslavia. At least 12 Croatian policemen and 3 Serb militiamen were killed during a gun battle in the largely Serb-populated village of Borovo Selo near Vukovar in eastern Croatia.
Eltz Manor
Eltz Manor is a Baroque castle in Vukovar, Croatia. The 18th century manor is the location of the Vukovar City Museum. The manor, as it previously appeared, is depicted on the reverse of the Croatian 20 kuna banknote, issued in 1993 and 2001. After four years of restorations, it was completely restored to its pre-war appearance in October 2011.

Church of St. Stephen, Borovo
The Church of St. Stephen in Borovo is a Serbian Orthodox church in eastern Croatia. The church was built in the period from 1761 to 1764. Under its patronage was carried out first educational activities in the village. Church is listed in Register of Cultural Goods of Croatia. Iconostasis with 49 icons and other inventory is also specifically listed in Register.
