Uniontown, Kentucky

Uniontown is a city in Union County, Kentucky in the United States of America. The population was 1,064 at the 2000 census. The name derives from the fact that the city was formed by merging the towns of Francisburg and Locust Port. The John T. Myers Locks and Dam once known as Uniontown Locks and Dam is located downriver 3½ miles.

Hovey Lake Fish and Wildlife Area

Hovey Lake Fish and Wildlife Area is a nearly 7,000-acre recreational area operated by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources near Mt. Vernon, Indiana. The land comprising Hovey Lake FWA was originally ceded to the Indiana Territory by the Treaty of Vincennes in 1804, and then granted to the Wabash and Erie Canal Company. With the failure of the canal, the land was acquired by Charles Hovey.
