Karakaj
Karakaj is a town located 2 km north from the city Zvornik in Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the Drina River, it has also the border checkpoint with Serbia. Zvornik massacre
The Zvornik massacre refers to acts of mass murder and violence committed against the Bosniak and non-Serb civilian population of the town of Zvornik by Serb paramilitary groups at the beginning of the Bosnian War in 1992. Estimates show that 40,000 Bosniaks were expelled from the town. It was the second city in Bosnia and Herzegovina that was forcefully taken over by Serb forces during the Bosnian War.
