Glynn County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 79,626. The county seat is Brunswick. It is part of the Brunswick, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses all of Brantley, Glynn and McIntosh counties.

Gascoigne Bluff
Gascoigne Bluff is a bluff next to the Frederica River on the western side of the island of St. Simons which was a Native American campground, the site of a Franciscan monastery named San Buenaventura, and the site of the Province of Georgia's first naval base. It was named for Captain James Gascoigne of the sloop-of-war, HMS Hawk, which lead the first British settlers to the coast of Georgia.

After the area was no longer used for the Naval Air station (1974), 2,003 acres of the land was used for the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport and 1,500 acres of it for a branch of Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC).

The airport opened on May 28, 1938, seven months after his death.

East Beach Station
East Beach Station is a station of the U.S. Coast Guard in St. Simons, Georgia. It was built in 1933 as a part of the Works Progress Administration initiated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The Coast Guard Station played a part in World War II when it helped save the passengers of two merchant ships, the SS Oklahoma and the Esso Baton Rouge. These two ships were torpedoed by a German submarine U-123.
