Glynco is an area in Glynn County, Georgia located on the northwestern edge of Brunswick, GA. Glynco is a contraction of the words "Glynn County". In 1942 the Naval Air Station Glynco was established on the area now known as Glynco. East Beach Station

East Beach Station is a station of the U.S. Coast Guard in St. Simons, Georgia. It was built in 1933 as a part of the Works Progress Administration initiated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The Coast Guard Station played a part in World War II when it helped save the passengers of two merchant ships, the SS Oklahoma and the Esso Baton Rouge. These two ships were torpedoed by a German submarine U-123.
